I also had both of these cars, my best for the SS 12:87 @ 109 (did have a CAI, and solo HF Cats), best for the 5.0 (FRPP tuner & 500 mufflers) 13:07 @ 109. The issue I had with my 5.0 was that I could not shift into 3rd at anything over 6000 rpms it just would lock me out, so I left a lot on the table. I do think that the 5.0 was faster than the SS though even in bonestock form.

I did, they tried changing fluid per a bulletin, that didn't help at all. The issue for the dealer was the car shifted beautiful unless it was at hard throttle. According to the Ford forums I was not alone with this issue. Some had tried aftermarket parts with some success but I didn't want to void the warranty on the car. After a bad experience with clutch issues on my LS3 I decided to cut the 5.0 loose and avoid future headaches.

That's a hard question. While I would love to go out and buy an automatic ZL1, another 392, or wait on the Hellcat Challenger I'm not sure it would be a good financial move. I've been tossing the idea of going back into a 03/04 Cobra, or maybe a 87 Grand National.

255's are skinny, "dude". And the Pirellis suck.

Yes we all know the G35 is the best car ever made. And the only car not effected by DA. And the 5.0 is overrated b/c the people you know can't drive. Meanwhile the rest of us run a second faster and 10 plus mph faster. Sorry chief

Even smaller LOL. That has nothing to do with what I said. The reason you chirp is because you lose traction not because your car is fast. Smaller tires = less traction. I daily a 2013 Scion tC and I chirp second every time. Why? Because FWD and small tires.

Chirping tires is cute.
235's are pretty small tires, especially on a 5.0.

235's????
That's what I put on my Ranger. I have a 275 front set and a 295 rear. . .and even that is probably not enough tire out back for my simple bolt on car. |
