OK, I've seen the track and number comparisions, but the Beamer is a hole different class of ride. (and payment, too) Mustang is def. the better bang for the buck, but I bet the M3 gets you laid more.
Overrating it? It does everything the M3 does for a whole lot less cash. Since when has a Mustang or a Camaro ever competed on the M3's level so well? If I had the money to buy a car with the performance of a car almost twice as much money I'd pick the first car...but that's just me. In the 1/4 both cars are very close within .1 of a second. The Mustang also handles as good on the road course. The Bmw is definitely a higher class of car, however it certainly doesn't hurt to benchmark such an incredible performing vehicle does it? Now to a more important issue...I have never relied on any type of vehicle to help me pick up women. Is that the reason you bought your Camaro?

I don't guys i'm kind of leaning towards getting the mustang instead of the camaro...

and I think i saw you post at themustangsource awesome that you have both cars...

I guess i'm in the minority but I love both GM and Ford, but Ford is doing a better job in terms of quality right now throughout the whole line up...and sync is awesome

Someone said the same stuff keeps coming up in cycles, and as someone who agrees (having read all 250 pages or whatever)...now, for something completely different:

I've driven both the 2010 Mustang and Camaro extensively, and I'm assuming the seat in the 2011 is the same. My right butt cheek falls asleep in the Mustang seat on long drives, but not in the Camaro. Coincidentally, I had the same problem in my 92 5.0. I'm 6'2, 180, to avoid any off-point commentary on weight issues.

You're welcome.

Most important, the competition will breed better Camaros and Mustangs.

Is there a hands down winner? I doubt it.

Off the showroom floor I would take the Camaro because it is a more refined automobile.

Modified??? That is a really tough question and why the debate rages on.
Only your opinion which is fine.. But I thought the exact opposite when I did my shopping..

He is right though, the m3 is a total different class. The interior of the mustang is nice, nicer than it has been in the past by a long shot, but not m3 level. The m3 is a great car and is honestly a better car than the mustang, hands down. Maybe not for the price difference, but I love muscle and mustangs/camaros/challengers, but given the choice, an m3 would no doubt be sitting in my driveway.

I love both cars too.. Even though I'm more critical now of the Camaro, I still enjoyed driving it for the year I had it. If you get the convertible Camaro, you will have zero vision problems..lol.. So it boils down to what you feel best in. Drive all the cars you are interested period, and pick the one you can afford first, and the one that will make you happy second. I've posted in other forums and have gotten some good people to respond who are knowledgeable. The problem is there are so many Mustang forums it is hard to pick just one while this site is the only Camaro forum still alive and growing. Either one you pick, you can't go wrong.

You should get that right but cheek looked at.

However I get that same problem if I sit too long browsing around Camaro5.

Rick from Livernois posted this about their 2011 GT auto. Great run/s.

Quote:
Today, I went to the track with our 2011 Mustang GT auto.

Only new mod was our aluminum 1-piece driveshaft. Previous mods were Stainless Works Headers, Catted Mid-Pipe, and Catback, 4.10 Ring & Pinion, Livernois Motorsports Dyno Tune, and skinnies/drag radials.

The car still has the stock airbox and no suspension mods other than a swaybar relocation bracket.

The next mods will be a converter and CAI.

The weather was better than previously

Density Altitude - 1939
Air Temp - 76 Degrees F
Barometric Pressure - 29.97 Inches Hg
Relative Humidity - 48%

Best ET 11.69 @ 117.55 mph

Also ran 11.70, 11.72, and 11.75 @ 117 mph

For those that think we have an optimistic dyno, the car doesn't even make 400 RWHP.

Regards,

Rick LeBlanc

GM the Z28 needs to be super high performance

Show full PR textDEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford Racing has announced today the availability of a new, 2.3L twin-screw supercharger for the 2011 Mustang. When mated to the all-new 5.0L 4V TiVCT V8 engine, this 50-state-legal powertrain, can produce 624 hp SAE @ 6900 rpm and 536 lb-ft SAE @ 4700 rpm. This is the first Twin-screw unit available to consumers.

The new supercharger is Ford Racing's first power upgrade component for the new 5.0 engine. It was developed by Ford Racing engineers, in close collaboration with Ford Motor Company's powertrain engineers, Team Mustang, and key partners in Roush and Whipple. The supercharger is being seen for the first time Saturday at the annual Woodward Dream Cruise in Ford's Mustang Alley display.

"Superchargers are the ultimate in power upgrades for Mustang enthusiasts," says George Goddu, Ford Racing Performance Group Manager. "Calibration for a modern V8 engine, especially one with twin-independent variable cam timing, is incredibly complex. Production calibration for the 5.0 engine took 19 months. Having that knowledge base to work from is a huge advantage.

"In fact we had the whole engineering background of the engine right from initial concept," Goddu added. "With that knowledge base, and extensive collaboration across the team, we are able to offer a top-notch supercharger, induction kit and the optimum calibration. This results in great power, drivability and durability."

"After more than 100 hours of accelerated durability testing, the entire Ford Racing package performed flawlessly," reports Dev Saberwal, Ford Racing's lead calibration engineer. "Ford Racing performance parts are subjected to extensive testing to ensure optimum performance across a broad range of conditions."

This supercharger comes as a complete package, and it's available in three levels: a 525 hp kit with a 12/12 warranty; a 624 hp kit and a tuner kit for racing and extreme enthusiasts. Each of these impressive kits gives 2011 Mustang owners the opportunity to boost the performance of their cars to new levels.

Ford Racing Performance Parts offers a large selection of performance products from complete race cars to injectors. For Mustang enthusiasts Ford Racing's catalog of performance upgrades offers a range of enhancements for the 2011 Mustang as well as a wide range of power, chassis-system and appearance upgrades for 2010, 2005-2009 and earlier Mustangs.
