I'll say this too,
Cars like the SS or SS 1LE are driver's cars. They are more raw. They are more engaging. They are not always as fast in a straight line, but almost always faster and funner to drive when it gets curvy. Cars like the 240 are quick, but isolating road noise and feel. They are designed to be smoother. Smoother engine mounts, transmissions, etc. These only start to get to a harder edge with the actual "M" cars like M2 and even then some of them are still not very engaging, just very very quick (but some are getting rave reviews like the M2C). It's a different style totally. The 2SS interior I have doesn't suck, but the car doesn't isolate like my BMW did or my Stinger does.

I would argue the c8 interior is as nice or nicer than any 3/4 series interior. Bmw interiors aren’t what they used to be. They are also very bland looking and the materials aren’t that much nicer anymore. The m8 interior I agree is probably nicer but that car costs a lot more. Also something people tend to bring up when comparing camaro’s and mustangs to the Germans is orange peel. A modern 3/4 series will have an equal amount of it. BMW quality is way down these days.

You have no clue. I have a 22 X3M Comp that destroys cars at twice the price. Tune only Mid 10's, 0-60 in high 2's, Corners like a sports car and its an SUV!

As for the interior, it's to each of their own. I personally wouldn't put much emphasis on it. In fact, sometimes less is more for them. I drove one of my friends' NA Miata and I loved how simple and basic the interior is. It's just you, the car, and the wind brushing against your hair with the top down. Even the ND Miata has a nice yet simplistic interior compared to a lot of stuff on the market right now. ND is perfectly daily driveable without the bells and whistles becoming distracting and adding a ton of weight. It's not like I will be sleeping in the car, so as long as the interior matches the price of the car, I am willing to accept it. Quote:

I mentioned a few times that I'd own one in an alternate timeline where I didn't own my RX-8.

Today I drove the new G80 M3 at a BMW event... wow what a machine if you can get past the looks of the front end. If you need a 4 door with smoking performance, and a warranty- its the one to get. BMW has come a long way with their EPS. As an E92 M3 owner for 5 years.. I can tell you the S65 engine is special, but can't touch the LT1 when it comes to performance. The S65 does not have much torque, but revving it to 8400 RPM never gets old. If you like a 'honda' style power delivery you would love the S65 as it comes 'on cam' at 6,000 RPM and screams like a race engine with 8 ITBs. However, parts are expensive and the rod bearings will be need to be replaced. Over 50,000 miles I have spent close to $8K on maintenance, not including oil changes..with heavy 10W-60. Above 100 mph the BMW feels more stable than the Camaro.. maybe it has better aero and autobahn development. The Camaro LT1 handles better than the E92 M3 did stock (below 100 mph), gets better fuel economy and feels much faster. I would rather have a Camaro than the new M4. The E92 M3 is a special car but if you are used to LT1 torque you will likely be disappointed |

IMO, it is MUCH more exotic than an M4 and looks like it over an M8 as well. We start to get into the huge bias situations where BMW owners excuse "miles of plastic" in their own cars, somehow thinking their interiors are chiseled from solid gold, inlaid with diamonds and goat-balls leather.
