Automotive News reports that GM is requiring a dealer to have sold a minimum number of Corvettes in prior years to be able to sell the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
According to one dealer, that threshold is four Corvette sales in the past year.
That may rule out many dealerships across the country. Hopefully this turns out to be false.
There’s been a Torch Red C7 Corvette Stingray sighting (PHOTOS) in Arizona and the spotting was significant for a couple of reasons:
1) This is the first look we get at a non-Z51, base model C7 Corvette, with GT seats, A6 automatic transmission, and silver wheels, and without a rear spoiler.
2) This pre-production Stingray was reportedly spotted with a heavily camouflaged Z06 C7 Stingray which is on its way to testing at the Yuma proving grounds!
In case you didn’t know… at the 2013 NAIAS Detroit, Michelin announced that, for the first time, MICHELIN tires are the exclusive original equipment tire on the complete line-up of 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray models.
All 2014 Corvette Stingrays will come equipped with the MICHELIN Pilot Super Sport ZP tire, an ultra-high performance tire that was co-developed by Michelin and Corvette through a relationship that began on the racetracks of the American Le Mans Series. Being selected as the fitment on the 2014 Corvette Stingray marks a significant achievement for Michelin after the tire giant also gained tire fitments for the 2009 Corvette ZR1 and 2011 Corvette Z06.

In a laughable statement recently made by the head of the Audi Quattro division, Franciscus Van Meel, made the remark that the performance of the new C7 Corvette will be “no match for an RS6.”
Granted, the RS6 does pump out 560hp/516lb-ft, but comparing a large station wagon costing £77,000 (about $124,000 USD) to a sleek sports car that will cost half of that is just comical.
