Last C6 Rolls off GM Bowling Green Assembly Line. Tooling for C7 Corvette Starts
The very last C6 Corvette has just rolled off the line at the GM Bowling Green Assembly plant. Bittersweet moment yes, but that didn’t stop the plant workers from immediately (within 30 minutes) beginning to retool the plant for production of the 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray.
120 workers take just four weeks to turn the Bowling Green plant around, completing a job that usually takes months to accomplish. And just as the assembly line is retooled/remodeled, so will the workers relearn the new manufacturing process for building the new Stingray, when they all return to work on March 25. Read on inside…
