Try one of these motion sensor sprinklers if you don't mind getting the car wet. Just remember to shut it off before you get near it.

Yeah, I thought about that afterwards. I suppose a better example would be if her cat was sitting on her car and her neighbor's dog jumped on the hood to chase the cat and left a huge scratch. Blah, blah blah, you get the picture lol.

There is just no reason for them to put there claws out on a smooth metal surface they would not be able to move and cats tend to know when to and not to use the claws.

Judging from the way the print was smudged it looks like she might have misjudged her jump and slid off the car. The scratch is actually on the top of the front quarter panel and goes off to the side a lil bit, as were the prints.

Hahaha, I told you she has good taste. When I originally emailed the pic to my neighbor (who, by the way, I get along really well with) I posted it as a personal ad. I don't have a copy anymore but it included stuff about her enjoying dips in the hot tub and taking long drives in her brand new shiny red sports car. My neighbor got a kick out of it. Wish I still had a copy.

lmao! If I caught a cat like THAT on my car I'd just toss it the keys and back away slowly.

Talking Nano Protection

My advice is to have the Nano Protection put on your vehicle, not just for the sake of saving the paint from scratches, but also due to not having it in a garage it will save the paint from weather and elements. Nano Protection is not very widely used at this time so you may have to research a dealer in your area that has a certified individual to do the application. The dealer that I purchased my vehicle showed several examples of the benefits. We even had it applied on our leather interior. The applications cost approximately $500, and has 5 year warranty to go with it.

I'd personally have no qualms about catching it, giving it to the city. There is a Leash law where I live, if the City gets called on your animal, that's a 75 dollar fine. I figure the owner "Would" eventually grow tired of that.

Luckily, it's all Hypothetical for me cause My Camaro = Garaged!

I wish you luck OP, don't be afraid to call and ask the local authorities what your rights are!
I called the humane society the other day and they said they will come out and set traps if I want them to. Point is I really don't want to be a b!tch about it and am trying my darndest to find an alternate solution. I've gotten some really good suggestions here to try (thanks everyone). gjordon pmed me to suggest vinegar. I pondered duct taping some mothballs to a car cover soaked in a stew made with vinegar, orange peels and cayenne pepper and putting it on the car. Then I could put a bowl of ammonia underneath the car and pour bleach all around the perimeter. Think it would work? lol

edit: better quesion: do you think I could survive getting close enough to it to drive it?

Will NOT protect from cat claws............
That would be a real waste of $500...........

Take that $500. & buy the material to enclose the carport.

The cat goes on Rosalee's hood because it's warm.
Now with the cooler weather coming the hood will cool faster,if you could keep her off till it cools I don't think she will go on a ice cold hood.

You need to have that enclose the carport PARTY !...........
I do see the carport looks too narrow to open the car door with the carport enclosed thou.....

Have a nice chat with the neighbor. Explain that their kitty is damaging your car. Be very adamant that you would never harm a poor defenseless pet, and you REALLY like your car and don't want to cause a problem by calling animal control.

Get animal control to set the traps and then she will have to pay or the cat will be put down. Tell her that if she continues to allow her cat on your property you will have no other choice but to have the traps set. The fines will add up pretty quick or the cat will be no more.

You're all invited! (well, most of ya)

It is a tight squeeze but I can get in and out even with the car pulled up next to the pole as long as I don't swing the door wide. My kids, on the other hand, are a different story. My oldest hit that pole where the outlets are right after I got my car and put a nice ding right on the crease. $85 for PDR. Now I pull out into the driveway before they get in/out. However, if it's raining and they have to get in under the carport that little incident taught him to be extra special careful, especially when we told him if it happened again he was paying the repair bill.

p.s. If I provide the will you guys bring some hammers? And maybe a saw?

Just go to Petsmart and get an aerosol can of dog and cat repellent, spray around your car a few times, they wont be back... Used some on my trash bags that go out to the street for Waste Management to pick up, no more scavengers scattering garbage!!!

Do like I did a few days ago. I set a racoon trap cage with tendervittles inside. Within minutes the bastard felt for it and saoked the heck out of it with the garden hose. Now when I park in the driveway the cat remembers the water works and walks by. It's just an idea!
