Any large pet store can help. They have several things you could try. That sticky both sides tape works but you will probably get scratches when they scramble to get away. Maybe use it on the rubber side of a soft bathroom rug with the soft side down on the car. It sure breaks cats from getting on the kitchen counters. They hate sticky stuf on their paws.

It's been 3-days now and the cat's waterworks ordeal still lingers in the cats memories. Try it, it works!..

No disrespect ma'm, but i cannot see how you can be so calm over this. I would call your local police and ask about what you can do to get the repairs done on the vehicle. They may just state its a civil matter and you would have to take the owner to small claims court.

2nd, go to the owners house and expalin the situation. Depending on how you handle yoursef, I dont think you could come off like a bitch you state you dont want to "sound" like. If the owner wants to be an ass or just blow you off, then get ready to slam him in a civil lawsuit.

You already have pictures of the cat on your car, you can take a picture of the damages to the car, and get any/all copies from animal control and the cops if they issue warnings and/or fines.

Either A: The owner will get tired of the fines and keep the cat in the house. B: The owner will get tired of the fines and get rid of the cat. C: The owner will get tired of the fines and the cat will get destroyed.

Regardless of the outcome, you solved the problem about the cat messing with your car. Now the fun part comes in, time to collect any/all damages you can from the owner.

Take it to the most expensive repair place and get any/all repairs fixed. Any scratch mark, make them fix and collect anything you can from the cat's owner. Retal vehicle, Repairs, Lost wages (due to not getting to work because of your car), hell even buy a car cover and make him/her pay for it, it shows the court that you have exhausted all means of solving the problem without making this a civil matter.

I'm in the exact same process right now at my job because somebody is feeding stray cats and people have told me they are spotting cats on my hood. No scratches yet, but once there is, i have a valid case with the documentation I have already and eyewitnesses stating they have seen cats on my car.

Thats the "Kind" way of doing things. If it was me in your situation and its on my property, I would do things alittle different, complain to the owner, get pictures/video of the cat on the vehicle, and then get yourself some sort of trapping devince. Place the traps around your yard because you have a "racoon problem" and if the cat gets caught and dies..... Their bad (the owners) for not properly keeping their pet in their yard like responsible owners.

I love animals just as much as anybody else, but NO WAY will anything mess up my baby girl that is my Camaro.

motion detector light maybe?

im very much an animal lover, i also have a astro van which i used to take a few people to the new moon movie this evening. i come out of the theater and there is a kitten in my engine. so after a gathering of about 10 people out there trying to get him out i crawled under there and saw he had gotten himself wedged in between the exhaust manifold and engine cover, i could touch him but he was too tight in there to pull out.

he had gotten so tight he was cutting off his breathing, he stopped crying and was gasping for air, eyes were just barely conscious, i had to tear apart my dash to get the engine cover out. i had only a few useless tools, tire iron flat screwdriver, a couple sockets some guy had that didn't really fit, got him out safe and sound though. one of the ladies there adopted him. Once he was out she said you can name him, i said you can call him trouble lol so she did.
My dash is broken to hell now.

How to waist police time abuse the court process and get your neighbors or coworkers to set you camaro ablaze in a few simple steps.

And laugh really hard when you leave.

And hope you land on something soft when they throw your case out.

Unless you have video of the cat doing damage all of the above is irrelevant.

As long as the cat has a tag or IF id no fines will be issued

This is where the car fire happens.

I love it when people admit to crimes, this would be fraud, in a public forum.

So they will get a fine for feeding strays if that is a law in the area, and it rarely is. Can't wait till your on here complaining someone keyed your car.

More crimes!!! This one has jail time attached to it yay!!! No cat problem in there. Then I buy your Camaro at auction. Win win.

I have no idea what your idiom means, but good job backing yourself up with... a....nothing

No video of cat doing damage means any cat or anything for that matter could have done the damage. All you can prove is that a cat sat on your hood and there was damage to your car. You cannot even prove timeline. No where it is illegal to let your cat out at night thats what IF and rf tags are for. If you think for one second your not gonna piss of your cowokers and chance them doing some real damage to you car you are clueless. I give up a battle of wits with the unarmed is boring and I think the OP has plenty of real suggestions to choose from.

It's very obvious to me and to anyone that has been though this situation that you sir have not.

You can call the police all you want, they CAN NOT DO ANYTHING! They will tell you to call animal control and leave.

You could take them to court but it would be thrown out. You will never have proof that the cat was responsible for the damages. You can take all the pictures and videos you want but you will never prove beyond any doubt the cat was the one who did the damages. Even if you was able to get the judge to side with you, they can not give out compensation for damages. Animals are classified as independent thinking beings and the owners are NOT financially responsible for them. They only order that will come from the court is for the owner to give the cat over to the animal control to be put down.

Well, I talked to my neighbor again and let her know I'd bought the camera and spoken with the humane society. She apologized and said the cat had ran out the other morning as she was leaving for work and she couldn't catch her. I believe that. Since then there have been no prints on my car. We agreed that if it happens again she can call me and I'll try to catch "Snakes" and put her back in the house. However, I also think that her daughter was occasionally letting the cat out on purpose. I think she thought it wouldn't be a big deal once the "new" wore off my car. Now that I've spoken with her again I don't think it will be a problem anymore (I hope). They'll be out of town for the holiday weekend and I'll actually be feeding the cat. My hubby thinks it would be funny if she ran out and I couldn't catch her lol. As a precaution I've poured vinegar and cayenne pepper around the perimeter of the carport.
