I've seen people call them a C5 before. It doesn't really bother me at all.

I'd rather have C5 instead of Raro. I hated that name.

Where I live, the lady in 5C is the one with the creepy old dog and smelly apartment.

OH C5... yeah that's corvette nomenclature

Doesn't bother me and sounds better than some of the other stuff I've heard.
I also think it's valid regardless if a vette is also called a C5. Probably lots of things called a C5, but since the vette and the camaro are both cars and stable mates there may be a little confusion when it's used.
5th Gen is a generic term if you can even call it a term, more like an abbreviation for a word used to describe a group or version of practically anything. And there is no rule as to where version references are placed, before or after the official name.
So,
5th Generation Camaro
Camaro, 5th Generation
Generation 5 Camaro
Are all valid.
And so that makes C5 valid.
The above was just an argument that technically it can be referred to as a C5.

The counter point is that no one knows what the hell you're talking about or referring to when you say I have a C5 and that's if you have a camaro or a vette.
So the OP can rest easy as I highly doubt C5 will take off as a popular nickname for our beloved Camaro. Or any other nic name for that matter. And to me that's a good thing.

The C5 thing annoys me too... if someone says it when I'm talking to them, I always correct them. If I'm actually paying attention that is. I know at car shows it seems like there are 5 conversations going on at the same time, and I can never follow everything.
