Being totally nitpicky here then...

Never heard anyone over here say they are driving their C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 referring to a Corvette.

Maybe it's because we're European, but all those C<nr> models refer to a very different, French car brand (Citroën)...

Sure they do, I've been member over there since 2008. It wasn't until a year later when a realized C5 was the place to be.

C5, like someone else stated, has been used to reference Camaro 5 but thats about all I have seen. Not sure where you're getting this from.

I'm not going to call anyone in particular out. I have given an example which can be found easily with the search button. You can search C5 as well and find plenty of examples of it. OBVIOUSLY, from this thread, I'm not the only one that has seen it.

It's incorrect slang, if that's what you want to call it. Slang for a 97-05 Corvette is "C5". A 2010+ Camaro is a "5th Gen."
