Coupes (2 door) + sport variants = attract younger buyers. And I also hate those ridiculous 4 door coupes.

Lordstown is capable of building up to six body styles...therefore a coupe could still be in the works. Holden's working on a hatch.

Actually, I'd prefer it if they went with small suicide doors instead of the current 'fast back sedan' look

That would actually be pretty cool on the Cruze

I am not a fan of 4 door coupes either....Coupes should have 2 doors. Period.

Unfortunately coupes are a tough sell for most people. I absolutely love the CTS coupe and would have gotten one over the sedan if they were available when I got mine, but the truth is most people won't and they will sell well at first.....then as much as I hate to say it they will struggle. GM struggles selling coupe versions of cars if you look at the numbers, so it makes for a hard sell when they are planning and how much investment it takes to make it happen.

BTW, Mike they are speculating in the paper in Youngstown that they will be hiring a third shift for the Cruze...Which would be great news for the area (My hometown...Even if I haven't lived there for some time).

Yes, it looks like three shifts for Lordstown...I saw the reports on the news tickers. You are right about coupes too...but I'd love to see a Cruz SS Coupe and a Verrano GS Coupe. Either way, they should move up production for Verano and build it at Lordstown along with Cruz.

GM outta focus on sedan and coupe versions of these cars.

Cruze and Verano could be offered with 1.4L and the 2.0L (in Cruze SS and Verano GS versions) ECOTEC turbo four-bangers - hopefully sourced from GM's Tonawanda, NY plant.

Bring 'em both GM! And those sport coupe versions just beg for the 2.0L Turbo.

Oh, and GM...be prepared to run both those plants 6 days per week @ 3 shifts per day for awhile.

Confirmed in the Buffalo News yesterday that the Tonawanda Plant will be making the ECOTEC engines.
