I honestly don't know why MT didn't do a 3way shootout. They used a 2014 ZL1, they could have used a 2014 GT500 also. After they were put thru a series of PERFORMANCE tests, no doubt the GT500 would have been victorious...not taking anything from the ZL1 or Hellcat.

Show me it's not a high-11's - mid 12-second car. Independent reviewers have tested all three pony cars. Here are the results in order of ET.

Car&Driver:
Hellokitty: 0-60, 3.6sec; 1/4mile 11.7 @ 126mph; 4488lbs automatic
---GT500: 0-60, 3.5sec; 1/4mile 11.8 @ 125mph; 3891lbs
------ZL1: 0-60, 4.1sec; 1/4mile 12.3 @ 119mph; 4120lbs

MotorTrend:
---GT500: 0-60, 3.8sec; 1/4mile 11.6 @ 125.7mph; 3871lbs
Hellokitty: 0-60, 3.7sec; 1/4mile 11.7 @ 125.4mph; 4449lbs automatic
------ZL1: 0-60, 3.9sec, 1/4mile 12.2 @ 116.6mph; 4051lbs

Edmunds:
---GT500: 0-60, 3.9sec, 1/4mile 12.1 @ 120.6mph; 3870lbs
-----ZL1: 0-60, 4.1sec, 1/4mile 12.4 @ 116.0mph
Hellokitty: 0-60, 4.8sec; 1/4mile 12.5 @ 118.8mph; 4454lbs

Road&Track:
---GT500: 0-60, 3.5sec, 1/4mile 11.7 @ 128.1mph
-----ZL1: 0-60, 3.9sec, 1/4mile 12.1 @ 119.9mph
Hellokitty: TBD

The Autocat numbers are similar to the manual-only GT500. The manual to manual comparisons...well shame on Dodge. All the hype leading up to the Failcat launch has been typical Dodge hype. It's not faster than the GT500 in a straight-line and it almost certainly won't keep up with the GT500 or ZL1 on anything with a turn. As it stands, it is a powerful, roomy, muscle car with an automatic transmission. It adds nothing to what has already been accomplished by Ford and Chevrolet.

Dodge with the Hellcat, Ford with the 500 and the soon to be released GT350. Yes the Z/28 is a nice addition to the lineup but I suspect it too will fall to the new GT350 in the works.
No, the whole problem is a 700+HP muscle car that costs over $60,000 showing up late to the party and running the same ET's and trap speeds we've been seeing from the GT500 for years is disappointing.

No need to justify anything. Those CTS-V's and ZL1's have been roaming the streets/tracks for 6 and 3 years respectively. Where has Dodge been? I still haven't seen a Hellcat on the street, have you?

Dodge has nothing under $100k to compete with the Z/28 and GT350. That's a moot point. They don't even try.

Maybe Chevy has something in the works with the 16-ZL1?
Absolutely, any number of modified cars will show the Hellcat their tail lights for a lot less than $60,000. I doubt the current generation ZL1 will gain any HP to compete in a straight-line. It took Dodge 3+ years to respond to the ZL1, GT500. I suspect we won't have to wait that long for an answer on the new platforms.

Medisin dont leave out the back to back 11.40 runs that cars.com did on a actual drag strip, with the tracks timing equipment.

Absolutely. What do I compare those times to? Did they test the ZL1 or GT500 on that drag strip? I have reviews for all three cars courtesy of MotorTrend, Car&Driver and Edmunds posted above. From cars.com I have...the Hellcat. 11.4 is very good but relative to what?

Ahh I got you

I can not find any review like they did for the Hellcat for the GT500 or ZL1, so I see why you did not include it because you do not have the comparable review. I been looking around cars.com and can find reviews, but seems like they don't have any performance data for the GT500 or ZL1.

Carry on haha

Just imagine, if the Z06 is $79K, what a Gen-6 ZL1 will sell for... "Price-appropriate" to scatter kitty litter, dollar-for-dollar...

Stick vs. Stick vs. Stick? You are correct...

Times released, so far, indicate the Stick 'Cat struggles to MATCH the ZL1...and we ALL know how slow that one is?!

Suddenly (as always!), it's a "driver's race". As it should be...

I've applied for a copyright on that but, in the meantime, feel free to "scatter" that term every chance you get...

It certainly challenges (no pun) FORD in their GT350-SVT-KING KONG development of the Gen-6 Stang...

There may be some midnight oil burned in Dearborn, over the weekend, and for a few weeks-weekends more...

After the 5.8 Trinity was dropped on GMs head, you don't think SVT is capable of anything more?

I get that you are a GM fanboy but that doesn't mean you have to ignore reality.
