Well, the dodge is actually faster than the 6.2L COPO. Also, a 7.0L COPO which basically runs the 1/4 in the same time as the Dodge just went on eBay for $128K and again can't be driven in the street. The COPO program becomes very hard to justify with the Dodge being able to do what it is doing with the Demon.

For everyone that keeps bringing up the COPO... just stop, you make yourself look STUPID.... COPO is in the class with the Ford Cobra Jet and Dodge Drag PAK.... ZL1 is in the class or segment with the Hellcat and Demon.... I love my 2012 ZL1, but I'm not brand loyal, and you have to love what they have done with the Demon. Looks like dodge will remain the STRIP King... soooooooooooo if the new GT500 has more power than the ZL1, and handles like the GT350 where does that leave the ZL1... looks like the new ZL1 will be at the back of the bus.... maybe, lets see what Ford delivers. But I'm willing to bet, it will have more than 662 HP from the last version, and with the new IRS and Magna Ride..... well I think most can see it clearly....

As a true car guy, I can't hate like a lot of people on here. The demon is bad a$$! They are definitely taking it to a new level. I still prefer my ZL1. Its funny though, some Camaro owners that are hating are sooooo excited about small wheels, canards and the huge wing coming on the ZL1 1LE?! Gotta give credit where credit is due if you are truly a car guy. For what the Demon is made for, it took functionality to another level. I'd like to see one in person.

Cars are not a zero sum game. Liking the Demon does not mean you hate the Camaro. A person can like both.

Is the new ZL1 really competing against the Hellcat? It's taking a sportier approach, and will never have more HP than the Corvette, until the Corvette becomes a mid-engined car if the rumors are true. Dodge is in a class of it's own now.

I agree, sometimes being first can be a negative. Now everyone knows what the ZL1 is capable of so Ford and Dodge will make sure they have an edge in certain if not all categories in the future.

The Demon is definitely a niche car....Great publicity for the Challenger and Hemi and all that...But it isn't anything that Camaro will feel compelled to "answer back" to....

Highest HP and 1/4 mile times are not Camaro's end-all, be-all, or even anything that would make them feel "threatened" by Dodge....Just my $.02...

The Demon and it's image of billions of music hits or whatever, are fine for Dodge. They are definitely out there on their own....

Just having fun, like when you talk to people of your opposing nfl team. Currently I like Chevy, my ZL1 is the first chevy I have owned. I was impressed on how bombproof the Gen 5 is. I also read up on reliability, Dodge is at the bottom, so no brainer for me. I respect the performance but currently don't care for the brand. I used to drink coke for years now I like beer.

We're waiting on Chevy to match the Demon but I have been waiting for a Silverado to compete with the Ford Raptor. They don't seem to be interested in these extreme, niche vehicles.

Have they said what MSRP is going to be on the Demon yet?

Also, they keep saying that the Viper is going to be shelved soon, could this be the car the fits in the place holder for the Viper?

Chevy did it with the Camaro with the Cobalt.
