Both factory made what?

A factory made race car and a factory made street car... it's not even the same conversation.

So if you are going to bring up things that aren't even the same thing why not go all in and play the John Force Camaro card?

That's how I see it.

I have never been a Dodge fan, but we gotta love Dodge for continuing to push the limits.

I said I think, one is street legal, one is not. But they both come from Chevy and Dodge. He built his. I am just guessing. The COPO is the closest thing that chevy builds in relation to purpose. 1/4 mile performance.

The Demon will be a memorable car bar none!
The GT500 will surpass the ZL1 in hp, because GM's competition doesn't know how to approach the Camaro. They will just go mainstream and bump up power. Mainstream people will then consider them better cars, and it doesn't help that the Camaro has an okay rep in the car community. For whatever reasons, it gets the most hate in the muscle car category.

Ford is employing this strategy with the GT refresh, more HP and copying the design cues of the Camaro. The best all around car is still the Camaro SS. People don't want to admit, and will instead go on about how it's 'ugly'.

Unfortunately the Demon, as awesome as it is, cannot be tracked at NHRA tracks....It does not meet the safety requirements for how quick and fast it is....

The Dodge spokesman calls the letter banning the Demon from NHRA tracks a "badge of honor" and adding to it's "street creds".....It may end up the king of the streets, but likely not so much at NHRA tracks.....It sounds like a catch-22 to me....

Good luck to those who buy one.....I think the novelty will wear off real quick...

I agree.

The Demon is EPIC. A factory stock street car that can pull the front wheels and run 9.65 is mind blowing.

Too bad not everyone can appreciate it.

It's too fast for NHRA rules Section 4....Banned from competition....COPOs don't have that "problem"....
Not street legal either. Copo still 100K plus.

Only a second is 10 car lengths and a whole lot more mph.

A roll bar isn't that hard to have installed.

Don't worry....still has 5 year 60,000 mile power train warranty and 50 state emission approved even on race gas..... the hate is strong on here.

I will say as much as I hated all the marketing and rap music.....one can understand why Dodge does it. It's marketing 101. The Halo car draws attention to the brand and sells cars. That is how SRT gets away with building a limited production middle finger to the rest of the world car. A car built for enthusiasts and collectors that will benefit the companies bottom line.

I think it's great to see the Demon. It's definitely not for everyone, but neither is a hardcore road race car. I was watching the reveal stream and they showed the hits for the Dodge website and FB and they were insane! So maybe not everyone likes it; bu it certainly brought more attention to Dodge.
