The soap is fine on the wheels but I would recommend using a separate bucket with a pad or doing the wheels last with just a separate pad so you don't get all that crap on the pad you use to wash the car itself. Another option would be buying some waterless wash and towels and you don't need to worry about using separate pads. I use the waterless wash now on the wheels just feels better.

Always wash wheels first

Spend the money and get your cars ceramic coated. Costs quite a bit, but you can wash your car by rinsing it with water and driving it to dry it... Any bugs stuck on the bumper, just detail spray and a rag and it wipes off.

Sorry... I don't belong here... I'm an old fart..... Two things to add... 50 + years ago I drove ambulance busses ( Army) in D.C.... Stationed at Walter Reed Hospital. I drove in "that place" daily picking up patients from Andrews air force base.

Next... Wheels... Look at " Glen E " on any of his posts.. He has three links on his signature. The last one is wheels... That's all you ned to know about wheels.

Old farts can come in handy: even on the wrong subforum.

it's a nice layer of protection on the clearcoat, but it doesn't prevent swirls from getting on the car. You will now be removing swirls from the ceramic coating.

So getting it done is not a bad thing, and you still have to detail (wash, paint correction, polish, wax) your car the same way, with or without the ceramic coating.

So in a nice way you're saying getting your car ceramic coated is a waste of money.

I mean if not....... then I'm saying it. No point in spending money on getting it done if you're STILL going to have to go through the whole detailing process. Might as well just get your car plastidipped. When it looks bad or your tired of the color peel it off and get a new color. Plastidip also protects clear coat to an extent.

I'm with Dreamcar as well, Its a joy detailing my car. Love the way IOM looks when it's all nice and clean

it depends. Do you have a DD or a Garage Queen? How much do you wash your car now, or need to? If you really want protection, go with a clearbra. If you want pretty and shiny and it's a garage queen, go ceramic coating. If you don't mind a little work to keep it all clean and enjoy the paint correction and polishing, then going ceramic coating isn't bad, just a 'clear coat' enhancement.
