A V6 in a Sonic would be a really nose heavy, torque steering, poor handling turd.

Now an AWD 2.0T Sonic SS?...that's more like it...

Its not like trading 2 cylinders for a turbo & intercooler would make it any less nose heavy. Or eliminate torque steer. Or help handling.

Adding AWD (which could be done to a V6 just as easily as a T4) would only address torque steer. Well ... it would help weight distribution by adding 100+ lbs to the back end. But that doesn't take any weight off the nose. And more mass almost always equals worse handling.

But public reception to the Avista wasn’t enthusiastic enough to prompt Buick brass to give it a production thumbs-up. “It was purely a concept and meant to generate some buzz,” DiSalle says. “No other plans for now.”

Good plan Buick.

This is why you're irrelevant outside of China.

That's because it is...or was supposed to be.

GM80 was the F-body replacement. FWD Camaros and Firebirds.

Supposedly one of the mods at GMI asked a GM engineer why the hell the 4th gens had a ridiculously long front overhang and the response was it was originally designed for a FWD layout.

After 28 years, the W-body will finally be laid to rest in June.

Just like when Ford was going to make the Mustang FWD but the fan outrage forced them to reverse course so they turned that abandoned design into the Probe.

In 1975 you could get a 5.7 liter in one. It put out.......wait for it.......wait some more.......125 HP!! That must have taken some engineering to make a 350 c.i. turn out so few of horses.LOL. The good old smogtastic days.
