Though why they'd do that kinda makes me wonder where they're going to place it and just how many Mustang engine options are there going to be? |

i think its hilarious that any of you think that any of the trim levels will have a drastic price change. there will be a price change........but we're talking 1-3k here. which is what happens every 5 years ANYWAY.

Yes, at the most 1-3k. Inverting what I said earlier, the only way a 5.0L mustang WON'T cost ~about as much~ as a Camaro SS or a Challenger RT is if Ford makes a conscious decision to move the V8 upmarket and have a TT V6 occupy that space.
Which is not going to happen next year.

makes sense. cars go up in price every year guys.......... and correct me if im wrong but the challenger R/T is the most expensive.....i remember seeing one with not many options for 35k. way too much. its always been my opinion that mustang and 5th Gen camaros have been priced perfectly. but challenger is way too inflated for what you. and what you get is basically a fat tank that handles like hell. |

The problem with the Challenger pricing isn't necessarily that it's outrageous, it's just that the 45k SRT8 is pretty much in the same league as a Camaro SS or a Mustang GT w/ Track Pack.
Reasonably speaking, the market pretty much dictates that the price point for a V8 muscle car is in the $32k range (with a couple of options ticked)...Ford ain't stupid enough to go pricing the Mustang out of its competitive element. Interestingly enough, however, my fiance's 09 GT/CS has a higher MSRP than my Camaro (granted, hers has almost every conceivable box checked...missing only the navi system. She bought it during Employee Pricing and got it for <28k...would have been somewhere in the 35k neighborhood I think)

I bet tha when the production Coyote come out its numbers are not 400 hp and 400 tq. I am sure they will be a hell of a lot better than the 4.6's numbers but not as high as talked about.
As for the Chevy's it will be like old days. Ok, so Ford now has a 5.0L so now we will add a more aggressive cam. Then Ford will counter with something. Remember, its a chess game between the two companies. Move and counter move. As for us as owners, its no reason to wait to buy a car cause you will never actually buy one you would just keep waiting forever until next years model. I suppose if you had money to burn you could just get a new one every year though. |

As far as the SRT8 goes, someone else said it best. It's the Harley of the muscle car wars.

Actually, if we are basing this comparison on performance I might switch the GT500 and SS since the 'Busa is faster in terms of acceleration and on a twisty road as compared to the V Max.

Sounds..about right. However, the V-Max does have a torquey-er engine.

Hehe, sounds about right
. I like the SRTs for what they are. They have a great street presence. If I had one, I wouldn't go popping my mouth off though about pwning people.
