2010 mustang Coyote V8 vs. current new Mustangs

just wondering does anyone know there is any difference in the exterior look of the new Coyote V8 mustang thats comung out and the current mustang 2009 that just got released?

the new coyote suppose to produce 400HP 400TQ which i would think woul beat the new SS. anyone know if chevy has a plan for the camaro to keep up?

and also does anyone know if the price of the GT will remain the same when the Coyote is released?

thanks

GT and V6 models should remain unchanged exterior wise (SRA being retained too) but with the Coyote and Ecoboost engines going in, they will have a rise in power. Handling.. well, how does 350RWHP handle on a SRA around a track? It's not about 1320 feet of straight asphalt anymore..

Chevy's 'plan' (up for conjecture) is to wait until 2014 or so to begin getting serious about a 6th gen. From what's been said about that car.. the Mustang will need a serious overhaul.

You get one of these tied to the roof.

You'll notice that the Coyote is on fire.

Coyote will look like the current model though brakes and suspension will be revised including revisions to the Track pack setup which may, and likely will, be standard on the 5.0L powered GT. Mustang is already the class standout in terms of handling, another 100hp, superior torque throughout the power band, superior gear spread, and better brakes should make things very interesting indeed.

"A conjecture is a proposition which is presumed to be real, true, or genuine, mostly based on inconclusive grounds."

It's a smart way of saying I'm probably blowing smoke out my bum.

Its the whole Alpha argument that I was referring to. It's mostly guesstimates at this rate but 2015 or so is looking to be the year when the 6th gen development cycle is said to be spooled for a late 2010s release.

Well.. thing is that it's pretty much the only Pony car. Camaro is more of an all around sports car, and the Challenger is a bruiser Muscle car in almost every sense of the word. With the Stang, though.. you can only do so much with a SRA. Then again, the same has been said for the LS series OHV motors.. We will have to wait and see. I for one am eager to test one with the mythic 6spd standard gearbox just to see what the so called fuss that almost pulled me from the Camaro is all about.

I don't think sports car is a term I would use to describe the Camaro. IMO Camaro is more of a small muscle car with GT overtones.

That SRA equipped Mustang is probably one of the two best handling, volume production American cars ever produced.

That's why I said sports car. It's not quite a pony car, not quite a muscle car.. Its something in itself that the Mustang seems to do now too. Sports car was the most understandable choice in terming the car IMO.

I don't think there are any true pony cars anymore, the closest being the 'Stang which is still rewriting the book as did the Camaro while they compete for the crown. It's not about straight line performance anymore; GM and Ford took this philospohy to heart with the new generation of '2+2 coupes'.

This is true. It's also why I said that you can do only so much with it, just like GM 'can only do so much' with pushrods. Both companies are just pushing the envelope as to what can be done with seemingly 'archaic' technology. Kind of a snide jab and an observation in the same line. Though I will still hold reservations until I can test a 'Deus ex machina SRA' equipped GT.

And I take it that the other car you're referring to is the '10 Taurus SHO?

I think the Mustang is still a 'pure' ponycar. And, of course, the other car I was referring to is the 'plastic fantastic'.

No info or even decent rumors on that one.

And I won't argue against that point. It is the original, while the Camaro upped the ante.

But I digress.. I can't wait to see what the Coyote brings to the table to enhance the current D2C body Mustang.

The 2011 Mustang GT will have a long awaited 6 speed tranny to bolt up to the Coyote...should make for a hell of a good car.

THe body is not projected to have any changes, since Ford just changed it for 2010.
