the morons in my town used ruff cut marble for the curbs so if you rub it you get to buy a rim and a tire. i dont parallel park. because i have a choice. feel sorry for those of you who have to.

ive had nothing but trucks all my life, parking this thing is easy. But, like several have said, mirror, adjust it down some to see the rear wheel area and practice.

If you live in a place that doesn't require parallel parking consider yourself very lucky. Many of us live in cities and parallel parking can't be avoided. I quickly snapped a picture of my parking spot this morning. It was the best I could do because of the amount of people walking, riding bikes, mopeds, pushing carts as well as other cars while I was leaving. I usually have a spotter or two and even then it takes quite a few tries to get the right angle. While we don't park by touch here in Beijing, its pretty close. Most times there is just a finger space or so between my car and both sides. Fun fun.

i make it a practice of tilting my passenger mirror down whenever i'm parallel parking or backing out of my driveway (it has a little curve to it). i'm also going to be investing in front/rear camera's so i can see a little better, just gotta find out where I can mount the front one

yeah... anytime my girl and I go to Downtown Rochester (which is really the only parallel parking around here) we take her car because its smaller and easier haha. And I dont trust other people parking in front or behind me.

Three of my wheels are curb rashed to hell from trying to park on streets. One of the cities I live near has basically 90 degree angled curbs, so if you even bump it... scrrrrrratch. Don't do it if you can avoid it.

I had better visibility when parallel parking a tractor with a 48 foot trailer. I am surprised that nobody has created a DIY for "Tilt to curb in reverse" for the passenger side mirror. It seems like a fairly common option that wouldn't be too difficult to duplicate by those familiar with electronics. Based on this thread it seems like it would be popular.
