You don't. You go to a different dealership.

i dont get how any car is worth MSRP or more. cars are a ripoff in general and to get a dealer to markup the price that much more to me is a joke.

Talking A Ripoff??? NO WAY!!!

If someone is willing to spend X dollars more than the MSRP than more power to the dealer that sells it to them.
That's what makes capitalism great. The only problem I have is that I can't get more money from my boss by saying I'll take x dollars more than i'm earning now thank you....

I took my dad to get some parts for his can at a local ford dealer, they had a new f150 with bf Goodrich tires and some fancy blacked out rims and a lift. The sticker was 54,000. The dealer markup was 10,500!!!! 10 mother fn grand for at most 3 grand in aftermarket parts!

yep, same with the chrysler crossfire, the new Tbird, the Chevy SSR. And look where all of those are now.

The stupid dealers killed these cars by marking them up when there was a demand, by the time you could get a decent price for them, the customers had moved on and they couldn't give them away.

Some dealers are selling HC's at MSRP & some are adding mark up's. Doesnt make the car a joke, that dealer is a joke. Just go to a dealer that sells at MSRP.

We sat down with a few guys and they told us that the base price is 70k for the Hell Cat. Dodge claimed the base was 60k so that means the dealer is charging a extra 10k plus a 25k mark up, That's 95k right there and its just insane to think anyone would buy that.

MY friend was thinking about buying it and the people at the dealer were telling him not to buy the Hell Cat its a rip off and he would lose 25k driving it off the lot. They told him to buy a SRT8 or SRT, anyways it was a crazy experience and I thought I would share it with everyone on these forums.

My friend was so pissed at the whole situation he thought about buying the Z/28 instead. I took him over to the Chevy dealer and they had a black on black for about 80k. He's seriously thinking of buying the Z/28 now .

Edit: Sorry for my misleading title I should have said the dealer was a joke, how rude they were and dissing there own car it was very odd. I think the Hell Cat is a amazing car so I'm not trying to hate or anything.
Wow a dealer wanting to charge a markup for the very first initial offerings of what is probably the most anticipated car in a long while. We haven't ever seen that before.

To be fair..the C7 Z06 will almost certainly be the better performing car and the more refined and "civilized" car..

The Media and word of mouth uproar for the Hellcat utterly drowns the Z06. The Z06 may be the more talked about car in the Vette and GM circles, but the general public and car world isn't talking about it.

Yes the Z06 is a big deal, yes it's going to be a vicious, world class contender, but it isn't WOW and AMAZING from GM. This sounds bad but the world is used to GM producing amazing Corvettes. The Hellcat is the most powerful production American V8 ever, the second most powerful production V8 in the world and on a dollar/HP scale..the best bang for the buck.

OP, your friend is thinking of a z28 now? The Hellcat is a cruiser and not a track star, I'm pretty confident the z28 won't be fun to drive on long cruises or commutes, and sit 4 people comfortably too!

I like both cars fwiw, just dont believe they are comparable. Would love to own a Z28.
Two totally different cars aimed at doing different things.

Its going to take more than a lightly modified ZL1 to keep up with a Hellcat. Don't forget, the other guy can mod his car too.

People keep forgetting that the Challenger as a whole, the R/T (both 5.7 and 392), the SRT and Hellcat are ALL staying a more refined GRAND TOURING car. Competent in the corners, fast in a line, seating four comfortably, great on the highway and drag strip.

The Mustang, and seemingly the Camaro, are moving more towards a Grand Sport/Super Tourer class of car. Yes..our segments are the same, but the realities of the car are different.

There is nothing at all wrong with this. The Challenger is moving to a more refined Muscle Car, the others are evolving to a Muscle Sport car.
