I won't jinx it, but remember the 4th Gens? GM won the performance battle, but didn't Ford win the war? |

Gotta love the passion around muscle cars. Ford and Dodge have release their new models. The mustang is kinda blah, the challenger still looks killer and now they brought the 392 to the RT line and they have bragging rights with the Hellcat.
The best cruiser of the bunch has got to be the challenger. It is larger, more comfy, great visibility and just looks cool. Get the 392 and it will run in the 12s. 6 speed manual or 8 speed auto now with active exhaust. The best handling muscle car has to be the Camaro 1LE. It will always look beautiful since it blends the timeless 69 model with today's technology. The mere fact that the engineers can make a 3900lb car handle like a corvette is impressive. Then there is the mustang. It just doesn't have that special something going for it. Well, it is a little cheaper. |

The EB is faster than a V6 Camaro and the base Camaro is within pounds of the Mustang GT. This 15' is universally recognized as the best Mustang yet and we haven't seen a Hellcat run faster than the GT500 which is still fresh in my memory! You can keep that opinion, but this much is true. |

Really??? It has outsold the Camaro since its inception...and not by a few thousand. The Mustang will always be the original pony car that set performance trends that GM has followed and tried to top.The Camaro will never be as iconic as the Mustang, sad but true. You can thank Ford for your Camaro. If that is not special in its own right, I dont know what is.

I agree that a strong competent chassis will not be ultra lite weight unless more expensive materials are used but you can look at the ATS cars for a preview of the weight possibilities that the team is working with.

Mustang fans are hoping and praying that the 6th gen will gain weight or not lose any but when the car loses weight I think those dreams will crash and burn. I'll be the first to come on here and say EPIC FAIL if the car doesn't lose weight. Wonder what every other Mustang fans reaction and response will be when the car loses some weight and has 450HP/460TQ.

I think what he is saying is the alpha chasis will gain weight due to the v8, not that the 6th gen will gain weight over the 5th gen. I think its a safe bet the 6th gen will lose a good number of poundage.
