Even with boltons. This thing is breathing way better than the older version. Much broader torque band as well. If drag racing is truly your thing, grab a base with recaros which should come in around 100 lbs less and it'll put up good times. A tune/TB and pair of headers will make this thing roar, watch.

Motortrend gave it a fairly lacklaster first review...not even praising the handling much which is surprising to me:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...gt_first_test/

But I'm sure its faster on the track than the old GT, but again, I think the 1LE has the edge still.

It is funny to see the different opinions on this car from one review to the next.

I'm thinking we are going to see some happy Mustang fans, and some heads exploding with dissapointment as well.

So..

Its handling is on par with the Boss, but more street livable and is just as fast in the 1/4 as the old live axle despite gaining some weight..

A GTPP is now for all intents and purposes a Boss..

This is a fail? MT needs to return to Earth

I'm sure it will. Same can be said for the LT1 which will go into the next Camaro. 2015 is going to be very interesting.

Ford was hyping up their "beloved" Mustang and comes out with slower 1/4 mile times than the previous generation. The new Camaro 2016 will be quicker in the 1/4 mile along with handling better and being lighter. All this time Ford had and they come out with a "B" product while Camaro will come out a "A" product.

On the plus side for Mustang, the interior is much better than the previous Mustang and it rides better on the street.

Ford will step up their A game when the next camaro arrives.

I disagree on the "way better" breathing. We shall see soon enough.

Now I realize the mags are testing the most loaded, (heaviest) versions, but I expected more out of the ecoboost Mustang as well.

5.6 0 - 60 an 14.1 1/4 mile (Motortrend).

The old V6 was faster.....though I doubt the 2015 V6 is faster being its in a heavier car.

With 320TQ on tap, I'd have assumed the ecoboost would be an easy 13 second car. Surprised!!

The 2014 V6 with PP did 0-60 in 5.8s and an 14/4 1/4 mile. So the ecoboost is definitely faster, but for sure the weight gain is killing its times along with the GT. To be expected though. Here's to hoping Ford rolls out aluminum to the mustang sooner than later lol.

I would be willing to bet that once the 6th gen. Camaro comes out, Ford will up the power on the Mustang. This will be another ZL1 / GT500 event, however not as drastic. I suspect come MY 2016 or 2017 the Mustang GT will be around 450 hp, but tq will likely be less than the LT1's. The weight between the two should be similar with the edge to the Camaro going to Alpha platform. I also wouldn't be surprised if we see some suspension tweaks to the Mustang in the next couple of years, kind of what GM did with the 5th gen and switching from the FE3 suspension to the FE4 suspension.

I think straight line will go to the 6th gen Camaro along with handling. The 2015+ Mustang vs 6th gen Camaro is GM's contest to lose.

Thanks, yeah I knew about the old cars options but thought maybe the 15 Stang GT went for kill.

Apparently not.

Not impressed at all. First off it's slower than the outgoing GT in the 1/4 mile-Fail. Reading Motortrends comments I suspect it will be slower than both the discontinued Boss and the present Camaro 1LE-Fail. After all the hype of this car I sure expected more.

In the 1/4 Mile you will get beat by the following similar priced vehicles:

11-14 GT
12-13 Boss (badly)
11-15 SRT8 Challenger Core, and 15 R/T Scatpack (badly)

On the track you will get beat by the following similar priced vehicles:

12-13 Boss
13-15 Camaro 1LE
