You still haven't answered my question. What were the GT500 and ZL1 passes on that drag stip that Cars.com tested? What happens when you take them to a proper drag strip?

What about Car&Driver results? A looong way from 11.2 and almost identical to the manual transmission Ford.

NONE of these MotorTrend times were done on a drag strip. But look at them relative to each other. All would benefit from a well prepped drag strip, but this is disappointing for the Autocat. It was supposed to wipe the floor with the Ford. Not so much.

Well, at least THAT sort of prep would be "NHRA-certified"...from 100 paces...

And wow that edmunds time for the 6 speed was brutal. They normally are slower than the other magazines, but I thnk the others will be lucky to get a sub 12 pass

"might as well race on your local highway" is NOT applicable on that day, on that track!

why no timers? The tree was working...why no timers?

And NO Manuals...at ALL!
You may be right LD...all I am saying is I am pretty confident the Auto is capable of an 11.2 on the dragstrip by a very good driver........I don't know how many runs it took SRT to get the 11.2.........I also think it has better times in it.......lets give the car a chance to come out and get runs in great air on a well prepped track

..as far as the manual......you know I was always saying Dodge never released a #.....and I was thinking to myself "why???"

I will only get a Manual Hellcat Challenger, so if it proves to be a 12 sec car...I am not getting one....but instead will get the Hellcat Charger

...A 12 sec 707HP car would be a joke to me.............but an 11 sec Hellcat Charger to replace my Super Bee SRT8 would do me right

I have no idea what...if any passes they ran with a GT500 or ZL1 on that track....

....but I also think if they don't run the car on the same day same track that it doesn't mean a hell of a lot to compare the numbers..

Fact is the car ran an 11.4....multiple times...by an average Joe...time slips in hand.....that's a fact....I don't doubt the 11.2 at all

Now lets see how many GT500's will run an 11.4 ..over and over again...by an average Joe......I am not an auto guy with cars like this...but the auto has it's advantages.

...and we both know a ZL1 aint gonna touch that number stock

Motor Trend does not test on a drag strip to get their numbers. That pic you show is them at Oregon with the other journalists to drive the Hellcat challenger....That is an unpreped part of the race track....might as well race on your local highway.
So NOW the fast list counts lol so this means the ZL1 is capable of a possible 11.7/11.8 stock

Nope. That is nothing more than marketing to me. No doubt the hellcat will take a ZL1 in a straight line with someone who can hook it. But this amount of hellcat bs on a camaro site is amusing to me. A bunch of dodge chest pounders trying to make their case for a car none of them own..entertainment at its finest.

I never said it didn't count......but those are the best runs it will ever do under the most ideal conditions...of course trusting they are stock.....

There is not even a fast list for the Hellcat yet....but I think when it gets established the fast #'s will start with a 10... not an 11....

Like you trying to make a case against a car you don't own?.....This is the general automotive + other cars discussion section.... right?

Now the NHRA is nothing more than marketing to you.....does that mean it's not true?

Unfortunately you are wasting your time trying to convince Lowdown and Medisin that the Hellcat is anything other than a high 11- low 12-second car. It doesn’t matter what proof they have in hand they will always fall back to the very worst possible times ever posted. They could walk into a random dealer pick up the car with you, proceed to the nearest drag strip watch you the entire time, see low 11s on the clock, and then begin with the excuses that the times are not valid because xxxx.

The whole problem is they can’t believe Dodge produced this vehicle, they were hoping for a mid to low 12-sec, 600-hp car priced at or near their Z/28. They have to try and justify their CTSV and ZL1 purchase (which were great purchases at the time) unfortunately the competition has stepped up. Dodge with the Hellcat, Ford with the 500 and the soon to be released GT350. Yes the Z/28 is a nice addition to the lineup but I suspect it too will fall to the new GT350 in the works.

Bottom line is this if you want to compete with the Hellcat in the following: 0-60, 0-100, 1/8, ¼, roll race, top end, stop light to stop light (essentially the street) your only option is a full bolt-on ZL1 automatic, ZR1, or the soon to be released 15 Z06. Maybe Chevy has something in the works with the 16-ZL1?

Only thing I want to see now is times when the cars get out into the real world.

You need to go back and read my posts. I'm not making any case against the hellcat...I've said many times it should take a ZL1 in a straight line.

And you're right, it doesn't mean its not true...that's why I said "to me".

However you all are getting way too defensive over this. And I find it funny.
