Rendering is kinda meh, too Lotusish - but the though of a mid engine ZR1 makes my pants tight!

I'm sure someone more in the know will comment on what I am about to say and set me straight if I am wrong..... Pretty sure I am wrong anyway.

Just a thought.... Could you develop a Mid engine C7 choking on a whole lot of R&D cost but possibly making up for it by lowering R&D costs for a future C8?

Even if that would work you would be tipping your hand about the performance of the C8.... That doesn't seem like a good idea.

Never mind I'm just rambling...

Eh, some people don't know but Lotus did help GM before with the C4 ZR-1

That they did, with the 4 cam 32 valve motor in those cars. State of the art for its time for sure. Expensive too!

That looks pretty awesome, and I think I would be in love if it ever was produced

Keep the Corvette name for front engine and make this one the Stingray. It sort of has that look.

that is sweet, but GM is no Ferrari..they would have to branch off to dedicate builds like this, as it would be special order only(not mass-produced)..a Veyron specs competitor. Nothing like shooting for the top...let's see if GM has the cajones to battle Bughatti.

..guess I should have read the article 1rst.

I would be amazed to see the vette transform into a mid engine supercars. I also would like it a lot. I'm sure it would be unattainable to most though. I'm very sure that Rick Hendrick would own number one.

Yes, I love the idea. It's crazy the Vette is a capable car, but you still have some idiots who refuse to call it a supercar, only because it's American.

For half a century, people have been saying that the next Corvette will be going to a rear-mid engine layout. It hasn't happened yet ... why should the C8 be an exception?

A $150-200k car that 99% of us can dream about via the internet. Not impressed.
