"However, a GM source recently told us that the Z06’s supercharged LT4 is capable of producing 1000 hp, though traction is an issue in the C7."

Yes please.

I'll admit a mid-engined C8 built alongside a front-engined car is far fetched but it would make for an awesome ZR1. I do like the part of the article that states the HP to weight gap is closing fast between the Camaro and the Vette.

Might not be too far-fetched.

I'll say this, a while back suppliers were already being sourced.

Awesome. This quote is reassuring in these trying times also

"GM source recently told us that the Z06’s supercharged LT4 is capable of producing 1000 hp"

Yes please.
If, if, GM grows the nuts to build this, I'd like to see three things happen; a) drop the Corvette name - a car like this would be a halo several steps above the C7 Z06 or C6 ZR1 - just call it ZR1, b) build a Cadillac version with 1000+ hp (Veyron fighter), and c) AWD or nothing.

Building a one-off, mid engine car would be insanely expensive. If the entire C8 was mid engine, then it would make sense.

This rumor has come up every few years for as long as I can remember. I'll believe it when I see it.
