I just ordered the color shift Halo kit from Ofer. I am a little nervous about the install. How tough is it to get the front end off? Also anything electrical tends to make me nervous but I am reasonably good with tools and can follow directions so I am going to try this on my own.

I heard that most of the kits come with very detailed instructions so you should be fine. Don't rush and double check ur work

Taking the front off is pretty straight forward. I find it easier with the tires off and the only difficult bolts to get to are the forward facing ones on the very top. If I am not mistaken, I think a member even made a DIY video on how to remove the fascia.

I'd find a place that wanted to take my money for doing a good job.

I had an Rx one but it broke, it was a pain to empty and more times than not I forgot to close the drain valve since it is righty- lossey, lefty tighten....I now have an Apex one and it is awesome

The RX can is not a hassle if you have a handy-dandy-catch-can-emptying-doo-hickey (that's the technical term anyway ). I designed a tool that gives you more to grab when opening the drain valve. A plastic beverage bottle screws into the bottom of it. I 3D-printed one here at work (in RJT no-less):

I'm not super crazy about the type with the screw on bottom since it's come unscrewed once on me. Luckily the pieces landed on the frame and stayed there until I could get pulled over and they didn't disappear into the street. Just make sure it's super tight I guess.

It's all about personal preference really. If you want a painted to match one, I think RX is your only option. Options are a little more limited with the screw on bottom, but they look nice.
