Looks like you have to be careful where you get truthful Ford info from.

Well technically they could have shaved those 200 lbs from the frame and body work. Really, for the mustang to only gain 80 lbs with the addition of a new IRS, re-strengthening for crash ratings, and the huge difference of standard equipment, I think they did a good job of keeping it down. It was definitely never going to lose the weight some thought lol.

I know i'll probably never feel the difference of that 80 lbs so im fine with where its at.

Funny...you'll see how expensive and supportive 90-some pounds are when you see the price tag on the GT350...

Wait for the fall of '15, when Gen-6 Camaro arrives, and let us know how your 3,400 lb...oops, 3,700 lb+ Stang GT trots with an LT1 Camaro.

I hear rear view mirrors will be an unnecessary Mustang option. Everything you'll need to see will be out the windshield...

By the time the camaro arrives, Ford will have an answer (475 hp possibly with d.i)..Pericak (sp) has full control over the mustang brand now, unlike before. All this will just benefit the consumer.

The 6th gen will definitely need that LT1 to tote around the 3900+ lbs it'll be.

I know you Ford fanboys are upset the Mustang isn't 3,400 lbs but rejecting reality isn't going to fix it. Mustang gained weight because it was on an outdated platform with a solid axle. The Camaro is on an overweight sedan platform designed to handle Austrailian roads. Alpha is designed as a light weight performance platform. If GM doesn't drop the ball, there is no way the 6th gen will gain weight.

87-92 5.0's raped camaros from the same years. Ford went a diff route and dropped pushrod motors (experimented with sohc which turned out to be shit imo), so they got smoked by the F body's for along time. At least mustang never went out of production. That being said, the days of slow mustangs are over. I expect the 2015 to be a low 12 sec car.

No one in their right mind including the fanboys expected a 3400 pound stang..if they were, pass that shit around.

Didn't people say that about the C7 corvette too and it gained weight didn't it?

Now I expect the camaro will lose weight bc it's going to a light chassis, but I don't know if it will be as light as some people think. I have seen some people here say they think it will 3600 pounds. Doesn't a Z51 corvette almost weigh 3500 pounds, I just have a hard time seeing a v8 camaro only being 100 pounds more than corvette.

What did I say that gives you the impression that I'm a fanboy.

The Corvette and Mustang were already very light. The Corvette is heavier because of the much nicer interior, the LT1 being heavier and a steel torque tube due to the AFM.

The Camaro is already overweight due to the platform it's on.

I expect the base SS to be 3,650 to 3,750 lbs.

At least? Who cares because everyone loves the camaros and they're kicking Ford's bottom! At least Camaros never had a reputation of being unreliable cars ! like the mustang! Wow! I can't believe you are a fan boy! But I do love how Camaro5 has the most trolls and the most mustang guys! We almost have more mustang guys over here than all of the mustang forums! Camaro5 and the 5th Gen brings all of you over here to hate! Enjoy your stay!
