I told him thank you and proceeded to my car were I immediately opened my cutouts and proceeded to leave setting off several car alarms.
Are you telling us that those dealers want ( trying to ) sell the car first , then let you drive it ?

auto nation chevy in Alpharetta off mansel rd (exit 8 off 400) (formally team chevy) I was just in shopping for a ss and if we got the numbers right I was driving off the lot that day (all in the past week) I highly suggest this place. they will move mountains to get you what you want.

I was at the dealer OP mentioned. Those guys are price gouging clowns. I walked out of there when they wouldn't let me talk to the sales manager about his lying sales guy. stay away from them. Crooks!

I test drove a 2LT/RS last Friday. The sales manager said he wasn't supposed to let me drive it because of the recall, but he knows I'm a serious buyer and a safe guy, and it's a small dealership.

We had a 2014 on order that didn't make the production cutoff, so we were back in discussing finding something we wanted within a reasonable distance, or ordering a 2015, and we wanted to re-check out the feel of the car after not driven one for a couple of months.

When we were first shopping a couple of months ago, and weren't sure what we were looking for, the salesman just kept bringing vehicles up to the front door for us to drive -- Equinox, Traverse, Malibu, Impala, Camaro. The sales manager always has the same advice -- take it out on the interstate and really try it out, don't buy any car that you haven't had a chance to check out thoroughly.

This is interesting though. I'm 28 and look like I'm about 21-23 (shaven) and I rolled into a Medved dealership just for the pure idea of a joy ride. I test drove a 2014 2SS/RS with a sticker price of like 37-38K and they never once questioned me or asked for credit. They brought me a credit check and I said I needed to test drive first. I drove around and then told them it wasn't a big enough difference for me to upgrade from a V6. Lol

How can any dealership expect you to buy a car without test driving it first , recall or not , And now that there is a recall this sucks that if you want a Camaro you have no choice but to have the cheap ass key , Fail on Gm's part both ways ,
Keep the key and let people test drive . I just had mine in for the 50,000 miles service and the dealership said they had a key ordered for me I told them that aint going to happen

when I was shopping for mine a year ago, I was told I couldn't test drive the ZL1...too noisy. something about it being against the village's noise laws/code...or something stupid like that. fortunately for them, I couldn't afford a ZL1 anyway...or I would have forced the issue.

my guess would be they didn't think he was a serious buyer.

were they asking for much less than the original 49k? I want to find an older ZL1 but the dealer by me said that they can probably only get a 2014 ZL1. Also looking to be price conscious if i can lol.

I agree though thaat they may not let you drive because of the recall thing. If not then find another dealer

If all the dealers follow it to the tooth , just about any GM car would be out of circulation by now !

Some dealers are better than others. Up here, you have to say your interested in buying that particular vehicle before they will let you test drive it. The GM recall has put a hold on any testing or buying until they "fix" the FOB.

If you can find a smaller (non-GM) used dealership, I am sure you can test drive a used Camaro there.
