Ford v. Chevy v. Dodge

Today I was screwing around and decided to go to Ford, Chevy, and Dodge's websites and pick out a Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger that I would most likely get.

Camaro: My dream Camaro would be a black 1SS with black interior. Nothing too special, I would probably get accessories from the GMPP. $31,040

Challenger: My dream Challenger would be a black SRT8 w/ black stripes, black interior. No accessories. $43,340

Mustang (Shelby GT500): My dream Mustang would be a black GT500 with black stripes, and a black interior. $47,145 and it also said something about a $841 monthly payment.

Out of all of these, the best performer IMO is the Camaro because it has better handling than the rest, and the braking is great. In a straight line it can keep up with the GT500 for a bit, but ultimatly looses.

What would be your dream Camaro, Challenger, or Mustang?

BTW...WTF is a "quote". I know it has something to do with insurance, but that's all I know.

Insurance quote? It's what the insurance company estimates you'll be paying every month.

I think he's referring to the "quote" button on the builder sites. Is that right, Carsisme?

That button will fwd a copy of your built car (trim/options/color/etc) to local dealers, and they'll email or call you with a price quote.

Oh, I see. In that case, yes, what Dragoneye said.

And if you do that with a toyota dealership, they'll call you every afternoon for two weeks afterwards until you get so fed up that you force your mom to buy a Malibu just to spite said toyota dealership.

what i want is in my sig:

Aqua Blue Metallic 1SS, Boston Acoustics, Polished Wheels

It comes out to about $32,050; here's why I went with that:

- I like the black 1SS interior. I like the cloth seats and the cloth inserts. The tray that replaces the four gauge pack can be used to put things like a cell phone or other things.

- No RS package because I think the four halogen lights (2 headlights + 2 fogs) on all at once give the Camaro a mean look. Also, they are cheaper to replace and IMO give the front a more classic appearance.

- Polished wheels over painted because I think the polished wheels will hold up better than the painted wheels.

- Aqua blue over Cyber grey because I think the color stands out more. Inferno orange is nice too but I think its Aqua blue for me.

- 20" wheels over the 21" wheels... I think 20s are too big already...

- Boston Acoustics for upgraded sound; it looks like its difficult to change the head unit so might as well just get the better stock stereo

That's why I like the car I want.

- GK

FWIW, the Camaro does NOT have better handling than the GT500 and I don't know if I would consider a .5-1.2 second difference in straightline performance "close".

Best documented stock vehicle quarter-mile time:

Camaro SS: 12.86 @109.08
2010 GT500: 11.60 @ 117.81

The handling is not close either.......

Motortrend Lateral Acceleration:
CamaroSS: .90g
GT500: .96G

Motortrend Figure-8:
CamaroSS:25.8 sec @ 0.80 g (avg)
GT500: 25.1 sec @ 0.81 g (avg)*

Haha, I guess it's pretty off. The GT500 does have forced induction though. The GT500 in your avatar is really nice.
