Look up the definition of unsprung weight. There is no way they gained 100 lbs of unsprung weight, especially considering they moved to IRS. The only way they could have gained that much unsprung weight is if they were running wheels made of iron. If the car gained 100 lbs it is in sprung weight.

Read my edit from a few minutes ago. End result it got fatter and didn't gain enough power to compensate.

Quite possibly the performance in the 1/4 may have dropped...

The car should handle awesome and be a great drivers car. As for 1/4 mile times if the car did gain weight I can see how it may not be any quicker, but I'd be shocked if the 1/4 mile time actually went up.

I can only imagine the howling, crying, and confusion that would come from the Mustang crowd.

I think the relatively affordable performance comparison is going to come down between the Mustang GT and the Camaro 1LE. Mustang will win in things like interior design, and features, and of course they will whine about visibility in the Camaro, but strictly speaking in terms of performance I think it would be great to see these two go at it. Cant wait.

Personally, I think it's ugly... Looks like they took a failed attempt at a Taurus coupe and threw a mustang rear end on it (and man did they ruin that trying for the fastback look). The current model looks significantly better (imo). The interior is a little better, but unless this one performs like stink, mark me as disappointed.

Interior design? I don't see anything eye catching. Maybe win in interior quality. But a hundred ppl can come up with that design nothing unique or special. It looks like every other car interior. The interior dash and everything is silver/ brush metal .

That's what I love about the camaro interior is that it's unique and it's own.

The man has a valid point... I gotta give him that one.

I'm more than satisfied with my 2SS interior...

Wow...I am amazed at how ugly this car is.

If it was April 1st I would think that this was a joke. Dead serious.

That might be why they stick to those little rear brakes to facilitate Drag Radials.
If he sold the ZL1, my best guess would be obvious...

Man there is a lot of hate towards people's opinions and fanboy'ism running around here. Here's the down and dirty regardless of your opinion: the mustang is the direct competitor of the Camaro. No matter who they set the benchmark for, that's just a fact. Because of this, the mustang and how good or bad it is as well as how positively or negatively it is received by the public WILL DIRECTLY affect the future of the Camaro. Especially with the 6gen on the horizon.

So let's set our differences aside for a second and hope that this is the best damn mustang they've ever built so that GM will be forced to do the same with the next camaro.

OK ! You can bring up any excuse to put like the 15 mustang design over the camaros. But every magazine and website picked the camaros interior design over the mustang's. They picked the interior quality of the mustang over the camaros. What's nicer about the mustang interior " design " over the camaro ?Don't worry I'll wait

The current Camaro interior is incredibly bland to me and I have the same complaint about my 'vette. Chevrolet's more recent interiors are way better.
