I can hear the hand clapping and foot stomping on Ford sites from here, beating the noise from Seattle the other night, over a statement so full of holes.

BTW, expect final hp ratings for the GT 5.0 to about equal the LT1. Count on 450.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is higher considering the Coyote will benefit from the improved Roadrunner hand-downs such as better flowing heads and larger cams. My guess will be closer to 475hp

The quote from Seven-Oh-Joe says that he "wanted" it to beat the Boss, not that it does beat the Boss. If the base car can beat that car, than I expect the GT to be flat out awesome, but I don't see it happening. I'm sure the performance bar will be raised, but how far remains to be seen.

Umm....the 1LE and Boss are built for the road course.

You just said you don't care about all that. So your comment on 1/4 mile runs is useless here since we talking about cars build purposely for a road course. We already know the Boss is faster in a straight line.

if it did beat the Boss around a track it would have some stiff suspension that the average person might not want to live with.

I'm guessing between 430 and 450.

I agree. It may make more later but I don't see Ford unleashing everything until they see what the Camaro does in 6gen form.

You do know how a guarantee works right?

GT350, I think will be the trim now.

That is some nice looking rear seats, I hope the fronts are equally as nice. My wife and I talked about it last night and have decided to get her one. She has picked the color, Deep Impact Blue, and is letting me pick the power train and options. I'm selecting the 2.3 ecoboost as long as it can be had with "track pack". Also opting for the 6 speed auto since I read that it has paddle shift and rev match. We have no little ones, and are keeping her Taurus X if we need a shuttle for anyone larger than her niece and nephew.

I do like what all that extra bolstering suggests with respect to easily obtained performance.

The design excites me, wheres your argument there?

performance is a variable that can be measured, looks are 100% subjective. You can not guarantee that Camaro will look better than Mustang or vice versa. Looks is 100% subjective.

After looking at the GT, some of the videos, and other pics which show the car from more angles than what I initially saw from the leaked Autoweek/TIME issues, and seeing it in a color other than that god-awful red, I think I might have been a tad too harsh on the '15.

I'm still not crazy about the back end, or the tri-bar LED DRLs, or the 'corporate' grille design, but after seeing the little detail changes here and there on the GT, as well as seeing it in other colors (especially the two gray hues and somehow, Competition Orange), and photos and vids that show the car from much more flattering angles, and perhaps a bit of initial shock, I think I've warmed up to the new design considerably.

Still, going to wait to see what GM and Mopar have up their sleeve before I make any judgements with my checkbook.
