It is time for you to learn a life lesson my friend. And the lesson is that the entire legal system is run by lawyers. If you follow the advice of those that have already learned this lesson you will be on your way to an easier life. The judge is a lawyer and will do favors for lawyers but not for criminals. I kind of hate lawyers sometimes but they have saved me a lot of money. Make a few calls or go to that ticket place that was mentioned in another post....obviously it is run by a lawyer...you will save some money and your good record.

Just sucks because it's not the fact you're speeding anymore because cops do it all the time not going to an emergency but the fact that the town/state needs money and this is a quick and easy way to get it while screwing with your insurance.
Sounds like my life:( just caught I ticket a few days ago as well. 81 mph in a 55mph zone. I go see the judge next week. Ughhhhhhhh !!!! I was so zoned out while driving that I didn't even realized that I was going that fast. The car is so smooth driving... The wife said don't you dare tell the judge that as your excuse. Lol !!

Just pick a safe place to run it and stay away from populated areas when you do. And watch out for the kiddies.

Summed up,

You did 45 over, got caught. Sucks.

Pay it, move on, be glad you got the car still and didn't kill anybody.

Give the kid a break! He already knew he screwed up before he posted it on here. I don't think he came on here to have everybody gang up on him and remind him of just how much he screwed up. It's kind of like kicking somebody when they're already down. We've all done it. We just all didn't get caught.

I don't how it works in Florida, but I used to live in Las Vegas and they have ticket attorneys. They even have billboards with a picture of a nun and the caption says "Even I got a ticket". I got a ticket on a new section of the 215 beltway for 75 in a 45. I called the nun's attorney and his fee was the same as the fine, but he got the ticket reduced to a parking ticket. It didn't go on my record and my insurance didn't get jacked up. It was money well spent, if you ask me.

I might feel different about this stuff if I didn't know that municipalities set speed limits artificially low for "revenue enhancement" purposes and insurance companies buy them radar guns. And Florida is rated number one for speed traps.

I'm gonna call shenanigans on this one. Your first post clearly implied that you and the other drivers knew the speed limit was 45 but no one respected it.

Just got a ticket for doing 89 in a 45. This 45 is on a highway too and on this road people regularly do 80.
So to come on here and claim ignorance of the limit is underhanded.

Unless I'm misreading this?

If he knew people regularly do 80 on that road he must travel it a lot...
Anyway not many roads in the USA you can do 89 without the possibility of getting a ticket at some point in time...

if I were the LEO I would have impounded your car and made you walk to too a bus stop..

10 over no biggie.. twice the posted limit =
"blah blah blah blah", I am sorry but shit you are saying is the last thing OP needs to hear.

to OP:
I got a ticket for doing over 100 on the highway back in March.
The fine was $800 and 2 points on the license (with 4 max). I hired a local to the area lawyer and had it brought down to 94 (which is less than over 25, which brought it to $450 and 1 point category, I then took online traffic school to bring points back to zero)

Hope you will get it fixed asap.

Really? People get killed everyday while doing the speed limit. Alot depends on the ability and awareness of the driver.

Eh, I'd do deferred adjudication. You have to not get another ticket for six months or so, but's it's definitely the easiest way out, if it's available. And it would prevent you from having to sit through four-six hours of mindless DD bulls**t.
