A few years ago a girl I dated had a dad who owned one. Took me along for a ride in it while he gave me the mandatory "I don't know why my daughter like you, but if you hurt her..." talk.

If the Camaro is a lion then the Viper is a freaking pissed off pregnant dragon. Such a completely different animal that it's no comparison. You're flirting with the idea, but if you ever test drive one your Camaro is going to be offended.

I have an intense love for those late 90s GTS Vipers. They have beautiful lines and are just brutes. The new ones are cool too but have lost some of the animal character of the earlier Vipers. If it were between a new Viper and a C7, I would get the C7 in a heart beat.

Haha, nice analogy.

If I had to choose between a C7 and a Viper, I would choose a Viper any day. I can't help it that I'm a huge Viper fan.

I'm looking at the late 90's as well. That's my favorite look. Definitely want stripes. I think in 2000 they offered a camel colored leather, kind of like the Mojave leather in the SS. Might be able to appease the wife a bit that way

Honestly, I'll probably research the car for several months. I joined the Viper Club of America and eventually I'm going to ask an owner if he'd like to meet me for coffee and we can check out each other's cars. I need to make sure my camera gear will fit in the trunk too.

Does this help? The 2nd gen has a TON of trunk space. 3rd gen is a different story

You can DD a Viper if you really wanted to, but there's a lot of jealous people in the world and the Viper gets a lot of attention. As for performance, My Viper will run circles around my ZL, but as others said, its not really in the same class. I like the overall everything in the Z and take it on long cruises where as the Viper is (in my case) just a stress reliever. I should also mention that Viper parts are getting harder to get depending on years, also the Viper has been problem free. If your thinking about 1, I highly recommend the 96-02 Gen2 .

I thought I could drive until I got behind the wheel of a Viper. It's both fun and dangerous to drive. No Nannies to protect you.

Another thing to look at; There's not car that has a meaner looking emblem than this.

Another thing; I don't think any other car brand is closer to it's customers than the Dodge Viper team.
