40% reduced fuel consumption and fewer emissions?
check it out...
six stroke engine...thats right, I said SIX STROKE engine utilizing the 5/6 strokes with steam to cool the comb chamber http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crower_six_stroke http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...THISWEEKSISSUE http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:Crower's_Six-Stroke_Engine http://www.popsci.com/node/9649 http://www.damninteresting.com/?p=467 http://www.newindpress.com/NewsItems...hapuram&Page=O http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum...e-engines.html http://quasiturbine.promci.qc.ca/QTM...Stroke0509.pdf

So the heat-exchange-and-"remove" stroke is also a power-stroke due to the water becoming steam? Huh, well I'll be a Hyundai enthusiast...
That's Nuts. And insane! I'll be very interested in hearing about the power/fuel economy gains over a similarly-sized deisel or gas engine. Dang.....

Just when you though that there weren't any significant changes that could be made to the infernal combustion engine.

So, now were going to carry a water tank and a gas tank. Love to see how that's going to work in the winter. How will carring 200lb of water on top of fuel save anything. Well, I guess anything is possible. With out guys like that where would we be today.

Way to necro-post!!
More than a year! ![]() Quote:
As for water in the winter...I'm sure they said the same thing about the radiator when that was introduced. What you say is surely a challenge to overcome...if anybody's serious about this thing -- they'll figure it out! ![]() EDIT: Maybe a heat coil in the water tank? |

I could care less about the environmental impact. but you could easily run methanol/water mix just fine in there

This is the shit they run in race cars. I don't think the inventer intended to blow up his invention. I'm a 25 year refrigeration man, I know all about the boiling points of fluids. I'm going to stop feeding the troll now. |

[/soapbox] I think that's a cool deal. When not have it run on just gas during the heating period and have a separate section that turns on once optimal temperature is reached. Also I'm sure chemists out there can come up with some crazy liquid that'll serve that purpose. |

boiling point isnt the topic of the discussion, the freezing point is. or did you mean something else by this comment? Quote:
the amount of water needed to be sprayed into the comb chamber to cool it down is not much. granted, if you are on a 2000mile cruise accross the country, then yes, you will be refilling about every other fuel stop. and the troll comment. thats just funny. ![]() thanks. its a worthy topic of discussion as its a new look on things, tho some people just cant get their minds out of their own heads to look at all aspects before criticizing. Quote:
its not just the post count... its also the time I've been here... and the date I originally posted the thread. and the setup is designed so that the water isnt even injected till the engine reaches 400*F which is around 200* C.
