I didn't really get into cars all that much except for the past couple of years. What got me interested wasn't a car, but a show. Top Gear got me straight into cars. My friends think I'm a freak lol.

When my mom remarried I was introduced into cars, hell anything with a motor. My Step dad and I didn't always get along but as we got older and I more mature I began to understand he love for American Muscle.
I remember he had Pics of a 57 Corvette he had in his youth that at one time held an NHRA world record set at the Pomona speed way. He never left his cars alone. Not one. I can't think of a single car he drove that was Stock... From there I began to love 55 and 57 Chevy's. Then, when I was about 13, I saw a 61 Corvette at a car show and that was when I was hooked. I remember thinking, "No car should be that cool." In my opinion the most beautiful factory car ever built. ![]() Since then My family has had one vette and two camaros, among many others. But it wasn't until I built my truck with my Step dad that I really knew what it meant to be a car guy... I designed it, I ordered the parts, my Step dad and I installed them, I worked with the painter and I drove it every day that I owned. it... I really miss that truck. I can't wait to start my Camaro5 project... Just cant' wait.

Honestly, I can't remember the specific car. I think I went from Highlights Magazine straight to Road and Track. I just love good cars of all makes.

Born in 82' so not a lot to work from in my younger years. But I remember seeing a 'Bandit Edition 77 T/A that was pretty awesome, and as far as one made in the same decade as me, a Grand National when I was about 7 ish.

I'm lazy, a cut&paste from another forum:
My uncles used to own a Chevrolet Dealership in downtown Indy (Johnson Chevrolet). My Dad made pretty good coin at a local pharmaceutical company and Uncle Dave used to bring cool cars to our house now and then, I think hoping Dad would have a mid-life crisis or something, (He never did BTW). Uncle Dave was involved with the pace car program in '67 and one day he showed up in one of the pace cars, flags and all. My Dad took me for a ride around the neighborhood in it. Now the Corvettes and so forth that he brought by were cool and all, but that Camaro pace car blew me away and I knew right then someday I'd have to own a '67 Camaro even at the tender age of seven. Many years later after Dad passed away I answered an ad out of California and discovered that the car in question was located about 7 or 8 miles up the road I live on. Took it as a sign and bought the car (see avatar)! Uncle Dave is second from the right, between Tony Hulman and the guy in the red jacket. |

Nope, no hate from here. Whatever got you into loving cars.
Me, I blame my brother. I was never into cars but after I got off active duty, I started hanging out with my older brother. I can never tell if it was one of this El Caminos, Chevelles, or just his 73 Camaro drag racing car. But, I got the bug and got it bad. I had owned a 95 Mustang GT before that and played around with a couple of other cars but really wasn't hooked. John changed that for me. Thanks, bro!
