As for the chassis comment I already admitted to being wrong on that in post 99. Once again I'm going to suggest you read everything before you play correction police.

The base Corvette engine had always been put in the V8 Camaro, and I don't see why they would change that. The LT1 is a perfect fit. Agreed. Bhobbs Quote: Why wouldn't it be? LT1 with 475 hp in a sub-3600 lb. Camaro, in a limited run (CAFE, pricing), means Gen-6 Z/28... |

My point is, everyone STFU with this is better then that, nobody will know until they are both out. You can bet your ass though that Ford is using a 1LE as a benchmark for their new GT platform. Or if they are smart they would be. Knowing Ford, they will give the new GT a 475hp V8, a well sorted IRS, but then give it 205 section all season tires from the factory.

This shows how competition between automakers is great for the consumer. Ford knew the 01 Cobras were terrible, so to try and become top pony car, they came out with the terminators, but by then the F bodys were dead. So they were playing catch up in the early part of the decade S197's come out with the 300HP 3V while some thought was lacking, was acceptable though bc there was no competition for the mustang. GM sees how well retro mustang is selling and the next year has the Camaro concept out. Camaro comes out as a 2010 and Ford refreshes mustang exterior and next year releases the 5.0 to combat the LS3 again a year behind. Then Ford got the upper hand by releasing the BOSS 302 and LS for the corner carvers, GM Responds with the 1LE and now the Z/28 which is just going to decimate everything. GM goes to release 580 hp ZL1 camaro, ford offers up the 662 HP GT500 its a great time to be an auto enthusiast because right now Ford and GM are working hard to one up each other much quicker than before. |

haha. Waiting for the right time and place for one to come along. As bad ass as the 5.0s are, I have been thinking about getting back into an older mustang. I would love to get a 04, mostly because I miss my old 04 gt so much haha. Im sure that could be fixed with a test drive of a 5.0 tho lol

1) CAFE 2016 calls for a 35.5 mpg AVERAGE (NOT highway), so anything below 30 AVERAGE is going to be built in restricted numbers, or pay exorbitant GG taxes.
2) In that "environment", do you think the next-Gen Camaro SS will weigh LESS (it will) with even MORE (than 426) hp? It won't... 3) Today's SS has roughly 9.16 lb/hp. To stay close to that (for volume builds), expect an LT-0.85 for hp... 4) 475 hp in 3500 lbs = Z/28...where a GG of a $Grand or $Two won't really matter... ...and what works in Warren will work in Dearborn...and vice versa... |
