All right, so how is Ford going to get their next gen Mustang down to 2,800 lbs? How well does their new IRS perform? How stiff is the new frame supposed to be? You say you're not biased, so I'm sure you're working with actual data when you say the next gen Mustang is going to outperform the current generation and whatever the next Camaro has in it.

Please tell me something besides "LOL, Ford is better!" It's pretty tiring.

.
How is the Camaro easier to live with? Mustang has better visibility and a usable trunk opening. They both ride the same on the street and both get about the same gas mileage and have the same interior room with Mustang having a little more head room.

Why do auto designers feel the need to go with slant eye headlights?

First of all, it won't fit within the CAFE equation (in GT volumes). Second, it will price the car into the stratosphere.

Expect 475-500 hp in special low-volume, high-dollar versions...like Shelby/BOSS-like versions, NOT everyday-in-every-way "average Joe 'n Jane" version GTs... It's already been disclosed that the 5.8 doesn't fit the newbie...

BTW, I do NOT expect the LT1 to be the "standard" SS engine, either...
The base Corvette engine had always been put in the V8 Camaro, and I don't see why they would change that. The LT1 is a perfect fit.

I've never had a problem putting anything in the trunk of the Camaro (lol, where do you guys get this stuff?), visibility is fine (but you have to use mirrors). The ride in the Camaro is quite a bit better, and the Camaro is roomier inside.

Where do I get the stuff that the opening is smaller of the trunk of the Camaro? Personal experience and actual physical dimensions. I wasn't able to fit some of my work gear in there without some issues, so we obviously don't carry the same things in our cars on a daily basis. And if it was roomier inside I would have bought one when I was car shopping. I'm only 6'3" and I wasn't able to fit inside the Camaro with my helmet on for track duty. I've driven an SS extensively on the street, and the ride in the Camaro is not better by any means in terms of comfort. I guess we'll agree to disagree.

Once again I was comparing the z28 to the gt. I guesss some of you only choose to read the parts that you want and not the entire post...

As for the alpha chassis it is used under the ats not the cts. The new cts has grown in size as where the camaro is going to get slighty smaller and ride on a smaller lighter chassis as compared to the current camaro. Hell even a new impala weighs the same as a current v6 camaro that's realy sad for the camaro.

I believe could be wrong that the new cts uses a stretched version of alpha, someone double check me

Whoa dude, you have read nothing I said or just ignored it. I never said Ford is better, I am just doing what everyone else is doing, just on the otherside of the fence. I never said the mustang would be 2800 pounds, just that some tech and procedures could be used from the twins to give the Mustang the projected 200 pound weight loss, which by the way is still far more than 2800 pounds. Lets face it, we don''t even know which version of the Alpha platform the Camaro will be on, the ATS version, or the larger and heavier CTS version. We probably know MORE about the mustang right now than the 6th gen is some respects and that isn't much. I just find it hilarious the people saying that there is no way the mustang will compare even though as much is known about the 6th gen as the next Mustang. One thing you can't deny is the C5 and next gen mustang will be sold side by side for at least a couple years and here ford will have the advantage point blank knowing where to aim and how hard. No we don't know much, but there is some serious common sense you are ignoring and continue to do so.

The way it read, you were saying Camaro had the advantage period, when it did not. the CTS IS on the Alpha platform, just a larger stretched version that, i am guessin, is probably the version that will actually underpin the Camaro.
