Wouldn't have a load shift like they are talking about in the article on a passenger plane. Plane was carrying vehicles, one or more may have rolled to the back of the plane when it took off. Had to be, thing looked freaking vertical by the time it comes into picture.

doesn't matter! planes crash all the time.....when a car has a engine problem or runs out of gas you just pull off to the side of the road. when a plane has an issue your screwed

Dont think it was a cargo shift issue! The were doing combat take off's where the climb as fast as possible to get out of harms way. More practical reason is that the pilot forgot to bring the flaps up once the aircraft was of the ground and it caused a stall.

Flaps aren't retracted until well after departure and speed increase. Extended flaps were in the correct position for take-off.
Gear was still extended at crash, pilot was preoccupied with controlling the aircraft.

Statistically, you are more likely to die in car accident.
Fuel exhaustion accidents in commercial aircraft are extremely rare.

I agree. It was definitely a CG issue. There is no way a loaded 747 climbs at that high of an AOA close to a stall. And most plane issues are covered by redundant systems and pilots practice engine out glideback landings hundreds and hundreds of times. Airplane issues are exaggerated due to when a catastrophic one does occur it causes a major loss of life. You are hundreds of times more likely to die in a car accident than an aircraft incident. And with takeoff flaps you're actually creating more lift than with flaps fully retracted. Granted 747's have quite a few flap settings so takeoff setting isn't a true representation, but still. It's a subject that if you don't have experience flying any aircraft such as a Private's Pilots License or instructor or more, it's hard to fathom.
