You go to Japan guess what they are driving Japanese cars only a very few American cars are there.

And if American auto companies were thriving as they once did those American Toyota workers would all have jobs and Detroit and Michigan would not be crumbling.
I know where the money goes. My comment was about him saying that all of those lost Honda and Toyota jobs would be replace with GM and Ford jobs. Besides, the facts are that Honda has be keeping Americans working for over three decades and longer. If you don't think they helped to keep the US economy running over the years, well then to use your term, you'r in denial.

All I know is that we are all hypocrites including me when it comes to only buying American, so why bash the OP for buying a Honda. All of you that are hating on him should go home and destroy everything you own that isn't made by an American company. I bet you would have an empty home when you get done.

That is how business works you know.
You go where the cheaper labor is and reap the benefits.

your logic is way off, a typical dealership employs how many people, to say all of the money goes to detroit is dumb: salesman, automotive technicians, detail, paint and body, the list goes on and on, the point being that you would be taking away american jobs by not bying toyota, honda, nissan or whatever.

you do realize Dealerships pay the manufacture ALOT less than retail same as any other product.
And salesmen only make commission off that sale so not much overhead on them.

dealers buy all the cars from GM.
they then sell for an inflated "retail" price to pay their staff and line their pockets. and even the so called "invoice" is not what the dealer actually paid.

GM gets their cash regardless of where that car is made or sold.
as the dealerships buy direct from them.
you are not buying from GM when you go to a dealership you are buying from whosoever name is on the sign the dealerships are merely authorized resellers for lack of a better term.

same thing.. as well as Apple.
manufactured overseas for peanuts and the home USA based companies make the profit.
very common business tactic as US labor is too expensive when a young person in China will do the same labor for 5 bucks a month.

maybe the caps and the little stuff but not the key chipsets.

now your phones cpus and most GPUs are outsourced 100%.

as are your panels TVs and monitors.

I understand that, but if they don't sell cars the dealership goes out of business, everyone loses their job, the honda america plant closes, you don't get what i'm saying, your wrong salesman make minimum wage plus commision on the sales

So you are very content as long as US companies make huge profits while at the hands of the American worker. I gotcha.

The only problem with this type of system is that sooner or later there won't be anyone to buy any of these products produced by American companies in other countries because no one will have a job to purchase them at least not in this country. If you're okay with the demise of your country then keep thinking the way you do.

Not at the dealerships here..
My best friend sold me my car he is even the Internet sales manager and gets paid nothing but commission. however.. even on that he still makes an easy 100k a year selling.

he doesn't sell. he doesn't eat.

No I'm not content but I'd sure as hell rather the profits benefit an American company than a Japanese one..
they may not have won WW2 but they are kicking the crap out of us in the finance wars and the populace is letting them.

In the perfect america everything would be manufactured here and sold here, we would be self sufficient, their would be endless jobs, america would thrive, I have lost two jobs because of outsourcing to other countries, you just have no idea.
