The performance will be roughly the same as the C6 as the technology is the same but more refined.
And who cares about 2mpg in the real world due to direct injection or running on 4 cylinders at lower loads ?
It for sure doesn't look like a Corvette anymore but more like a japanese Ferrari.
Will unfortunately nothing more than another niche car for GM like the VOLT.
Too expensive to draw new and younger blood and let's see if the 55+ clientele can warm up to the new "international design" as Ed Wellburn put it.
Nothing really has changed.I would be just as happy with a used C6 for half the dough...
Did you see the same reveal? Completely new interior, new frame for the base model. Brand new Gen V GM Small block which is the basis for all cars under GM. More power, more refinement, and more fuel economy, find another 450hp car that gets 26mpg. All cars share similarities due to aerodynamics, downforce, etc... It is impossible to design a car that shares zero design cues from other vehicles. The Corvette will always be America's sports car, there are no cars within thousands that offer the same performance. And the performance looks like it will be improved by quite a bit, more power, less weight, bigger brakes, better torque curve, less than 4 seconds 0-60 for 50K? Unheard of.

The front says Ferrari, the sides Nissan GT-R and the rear gen5 Camaro.
The interior is not great either.Like the old C4 with some Lexus LFA gauges.
The new LT1 is no game changer, either.Compared to the LS-3 a whopping 2hp per cylinder more and V-4 sound at lower rpm due to AFM.
Consider me not impressed or excited at all...
Shouldn't you be on a Honda forum talking about HP/cylinder? Take that meaningless crap somewhere else.

I like it. Not too sure about the tail end yet. The back does look Camaroish.

It's much better than any past Corvettes, there were no pictures of this thing before the reveal, other renderings, whereas the past two models both had full pictures 2 months beforehand.

I was just purely saying off pictures, there were none, I fully admit the renderings were pretty much spot on but of being actual photos, there were none. Check this thread out over at a corvette forum on previous model leaks.

Yes GM dropped the ball with the renderings, but to have no actual photos of the vehicle, leaving speculation rampant, is not bad. I mean would the reveal been anywhere near this big if pictures were leaked in similar fashion to models past? I don't think so, but either way, just an opinion.
