I had been wanting to teach my wife how to shoot, and given time, she will be starting out with a good ol' .22LR rifle this weekend (if we make it out to the range, bit of a drive for us). She can be a bit jittery with loud bangs, so starting off with the ol' faithful bolt-action .22 until she's more comfortable to move onto bigger calibers.

Taking my time now to find myself a self-defense pistol. I personally haven't owned my own handgun before (shot plenty of rifles and handguns, but usually friends' guns or rentals), but I am looking around local shops for a good deal on one. Planning on taking my Conceal Carry once I move to Texas in the spring. I could take it beforehand here in Oklahoma, but I think I'm just going to wait since I'm moving. I know the Oklahoma one has reciprocity (pretty sure I misspelled that), but Texas will be my home state for the foreseeable future so I'm going to wait and take theirs.

As for my personal firearms, as mentioned, I have a .22LR (Savage MarkII), and hopefully adding a solid handgun soon. Also wanting a nice .308 rifle. But like with my Camaro mods, gotta wait and find the money

Where do you shoot? I'm in Pumpkin Center area...

If you need some magazines, let me know. I have quite a few USGI aluminum ones. All of them have been rebuilt with new springs and anti-tilt followers. They may not be pretty on the outside, but the innards are new and they are functional. If you got really bored, you could refinish or paint them.

It think all the regulations are worthless as door locks, all they do is keep the honest people out. let me rephrase for those that havent heard....NYS is thinking about banning semi-auto rifles.

So now they say the ar15 was in the trunk, shooter had only pistols in the school.

BUT, the coroner said only the ar15 was used.

WOW! cant even get the facts straight, the media is worthless. All they do is screw things up. The AR-15 is a civilian style M-16 and is not classified as a Assault Rifle - an assault rifle is a firearm capable of firing multiple rounds when the trigger is pressed. A semi-auto AR-15 is not a an assault rifle, I like to use the term "modern sporting rifle".
