Our country is what it is for a reason.

Why do people want to be ruled so much?

There are people who want to be taken care of and there are people who want to take care of themselves. This country was founded by the latter.

Amen to that. I come from a family of gun owners. Actually my uncle deal arms internationally with DOD clearance. One of the first things my grandparents bought when they became legal citizens was a firearm. It's wasn't hard for them to realize the importance of firearms coming from a communist country. People this day and age are too far separated from reality to understand that firearms is what keeps us free. I'm proud to say that out of 32 members of my family on both sides, not one person is unarmed. Yes we have a big family...as most immigrants do.

Hope you didn't lose any sleep over it. Right now I'm kind of wishing a bought a lot of things at that last gun show I was at. My dad was with me telling me to buy everything, and I just didn't listen. Look at me now.

We need to make sure we all let our elected officials know how we feel. Make sure the only thing they hear is not from the anti-gun crowd. I just listened to the NRA speech about starting a program of training armed responders to patrol schools. That sounds like it would work. We should tell our representatives this is something we want, not them banning guns or high capacity magazines.

Man...glad I picked up 10 PMAGs two weeks ago. Good news is I have a line on 20 more for next week (with window - $15.95 each).

Lots of good discussion on this thread, haven't posted in it before.

I had been wanting to teach my wife how to shoot, and given time, she will be starting out with a good ol' .22LR rifle this weekend (if we make it out to the range, bit of a drive for us). She can be a bit jittery with loud bangs, so starting off with the ol' faithful bolt-action .22 until she's more comfortable to move onto bigger calibers.

Taking my time now to find myself a self-defense pistol. I personally haven't owned my own handgun before (shot plenty of rifles and handguns, but usually friends' guns or rentals), but I am looking around local shops for a good deal on one. Planning on taking my Conceal Carry once I move to Texas in the spring. I could take it beforehand here in Oklahoma, but I think I'm just going to wait since I'm moving. I know the Oklahoma one has reciprocity (pretty sure I misspelled that), but Texas will be my home state for the foreseeable future so I'm going to wait and take theirs.

As for my personal firearms, as mentioned, I have a .22LR (Savage MarkII), and hopefully adding a solid handgun soon. Also wanting a nice .308 rifle. But like with my Camaro mods, gotta wait and find the money

He's getting 400 units, but I think he's holding them for all his old customers (which I am). I really appreciate the fact that he's not gouging us, but he's also limiting quantities. I just put an email into him, so let me see what I can do.
