Mine went out yesterday for a cruise before she hides from Sandy. It was already raining here by 8:00 am this morning everything is shut down in this area; schools, transportation you name it, until at least Tuesday. Not doing much here right now but, they're saying it's ready to let loose.

I don't think it will be too bad here but I got gas for the generator and filled up the winter beater as well. I think we will leave the camaro in the garage till it passes just to be safe.

I used to live in Florida, and this stuff should definitely be taken seriously. Better over-prepared than under-prepared.

Katrina was "over-hyped" according to some people, and thousands died.

Just saying.

Forgive me if I'm not outside digging myself a grave. This isn't Florida or New Orleans, and this "Frankenstorm" is barely a hurricane.

(Please note my sarcasm is more directed at the giddy meteorologists and weathermen than you )

^^^^^^^The problem is just that....its not Florida or New Orleans so most people don't know what they are up against.....and we aren't used to dealing with all the mess. I understand its not the biggest category storm in history, but this is going to devastate the coastal areas of your State and mine regardless. The storm surge alone is going to really screw things up....trust me.

Good luck to everyone in the path of this storm.....make sure to listen to all the restrictions put in place by you local/state gov'ts and stay off the roads to help the first responders......can't tell you how much that helps.

The huge pier at OCMD is gone and the storm hasn't even made landfall yet.

Here's a pic of Ocean City, NJ as we speak, and another pic from LongPort, as well as one from Brigantine.

Nothing to worry about
