Hurricane Sandy

As we get ready to bear down on Sandy in the next day or so I just want everyone to be safe. NJ is supposed to get hit pretty good along with the other surrounding states. :(

Here in Lancaster PA we are putting everything in garages that isn't bolted down. That is after the cars are protected. Once it leaves you it is supposed to go directly over us and then go north. Generators and extension cords are ready. Bring on that pissed off woman, shes not going to hurt Natasha.

Unfortunately, Lazarus will be outside as the storm passes. :(...so I'm hoping it's died down quite a bit before we see it, and/or we only get rain. Fingers crossed. The only silver lining is that we are at a higher elevation than the surrounding areas, so flooding won't be an issue.

Be safe, everyone.

Our prayers are with you all. The wife and I are Katrina suvivors. Seven years ago and we're still rebuilding. Many thousands of folks from your part of the country have been here throughout the aftermath. There will be pay back I assure you as I'm certain a number of us will be there to help you all get back to a normal exsistance after Sandy is gone.

My youngest Son lives in Jersey City and works for Merril Lynch on Wall Street so I do have a vested interest in praying for all of you.

Stay informed and stay safe.

in Red Bank right in the center of this over-hyped storm. Not worried in the least. (Car is in the garage though )

I am ready for her. Took all the deck furniture in, tied down anything else. Gas thanks are all full. Generator was just run two weeks ago. I hope it is overhyped and turns into a dud! Don't need the headaches in work from lots of outages!

My mother called me Friday night all nervous about the storm, I told her to stop watching the weather, that it was all hype. I guess my hopes that it would go out to sea isn't going to happen. We are as ready as can be. Be safe out there!

.....hunkered down here, three days worth of preparation ....potentials... flooding, wind damage, food and water considerations, power outages for extended period < concerns, concerns>...ahhh, it is what it is. I hope everyone from NC, VA, DE, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT, RI and MA say safe and secure. They even say 25 foot waves are possible on Lake Michigan. Good luck to all those facing this situation. We'll be fine,...

Hope that all that think the storm is "over-hyped" are right. We'll know in short order.

Better over-hyped than under, IMO.
