I'm a nypd officer and I don't care were the hotel parked the car, if it's a no parking zone that's what it is. I've had this happen to me a lot .if a cop is giving u a ticket don't drive off.

Well there u have folks. I see this thread is still popping. Everyone seems to know the answers, but guess what I am in position to know the law, and I the have qualifications to speak on this...and even still...no one would care less for the wiser. So in the end I will drive my camaro like I do. Oh I have a garage so I dont park in the street. I hate traveling in new york city. Nothing like a pot holes the size of china, and tolls that rattle even donald trump. Then after all that you have traffic up the kazoo and all you need now is a jelly donut servant acting like royalty based on the perception of authority. Folks when u have a nice car, u invite low ego authoritarians with power..(oh thats dangerous) to use it against you. The idea that most cops are good...laffable...coming from a man who has almost his entire family and friends in law I can tell you there is nothing furthest from the truth. I can attest under perjury that I have perjured myself myself with my fellow ---- in almost every case in one form or another. The job cant be done another way really, and get the convictions. We are all human, sinful, and evil by nature. We sinned in a perfect sinless state and we certainly are'nt any better now. We killed the only perfect man because He spoke truth. I am deviating I know..but look at this lnk...from the words of a leo http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&fe...&v=Xj30lbc5_mI Now watch this and tell me you think cops are such great guys with maybe 1 bad apple here and there. Power is corrupt, and total power is totally corrupt. Since I have been victimized by my on guys, I can speak. Oh and trust me if i were't who I am and knew who I knew I would not be here today to speak about this. You can bring the knowledge to the sheeple, but you cant make them think. I want to make something..."disrespect" isnt a crime...for those that keep saying the word. You have been brain washed. You have the freedom, under constitutional law to say whatever you feel like. As a matter of fact. You the right tom actually remain silent, and say nothing all the time Oh but I forgot most people don't "excercise" there rights...so they aren't aware. Here another link you guys might want to check out. http://now.msn.com/watch-a-man-of-th...0-0a72b98c28df

And remember this video you saw of the Ferrari..think what if this was your mom...how would you feel then.

I know the feeling. John, and I know who it feel to be disrespected, but it does not entitle us to abuse the public...ever Two wrongs don't make a right. the law must always uphold the law. To "serve..and to protect" If i counted the curses, drive offs and insults I have gotten...and utilized this measure of wreckless behavior I would have bodied a few people. Restraint, courtesy, temperance and necessary force combined make a good officer. this takes time, experience, and good training. Much respect to you , and may you stay safe.

If it was my Mom I would hope that the officer gives her a double tap to the head, because she would be a zombie. (don't get me wrong, I love my Mom. The way I see it if you have been dead for lets say 3 days and you come climbing out of the ground, your a Zombie....)

I honestly don't understand how people are saying this is the cops fault. I have no clue how you can POSSIBLY think this is the cops fault. Like someone else posted, if a cop tells you to stop, you stop. Especially if he's writing you a ticket. The driver deserved everything he got, and I'm glad that the cop gave it to him.

Ferrari driver is an idiot, and cop is a puss. Really, you have to limp? Please, Ive been thrown off four-wheelers at high speeds, go carts, and my foot has been ran over (stupid me wasnt paying attention to my dad backing up the trailer). Did I limp and drag it out? No, but it did hurt tho. Did I break a bone? Surprisingly no. LOL I feel no sorrow for his foot. Im sure others had worse and they just stick it out and not drag it into a "Oh woe is me."

If the car was illegally parked or failing to display appropriate tags, then a crime was being committed.

Also, as I understand it, officers ticket the car not the driver. So if the tags weren't displayed, the car (regardless of who is driving or parking it) gets the ticket.

I saw this on jalopnik last week and someone posted that they knew the guy and he was a general douche anyways.

Who the hell drives a Ferrari in that city with that much traffic and people around and still be dumb enough to let a valet park it? A little discretion and common sense goes a long way in avoiding life's awful moments.

The transit cop was being cun-T. Regardless if the Citizen is rich and can own a Ferrari, the cop can not do what he did. And, the driver probably said "watch out im leaving"

However im sure the driver got a simple assault charge
