Yay! GM to introduce 2 new pickups while ford makes only one.
...and the ford will cost an extra $1500 to produce, will be harder to repair, and be less rugged!!!!
Thank you oh great masterminds for "fixing" trucks too! http://www.4-traders.com/FORD-MOTOR-...eage-14434300/ |

The REAL big news in the article is how much extra lightening the F-150 is going to cost the manufacturers and be passed on to buyers for no real reason. |

The real reason is fuel economy. The standards were set by the Obama administration. Automakers have to adapt. If you do not like such standards, get out and vote your opposition!

Chevy just needs to accept the fact that the F-150 is the best selling vehicle (of any kind) in America, and settle for #2. That's not going to change and the smaller pickup market (what there is of it) belongs to Toyota Tacoma a "new" smaller truck from Chevy is a waste of time and money.

Those ratings of 50+ mpg fleetwide average is insane. Prepare for vehicle performance like its 1984.

If GM followed that logic, they should discontinue the Malibu, because the Camry is the top selling midsize. They should discontinue the Cruze, because the Corolla is the top selling compact. Hell, they should have discontinued Camaro for good long ago in that case. Just a waste of time and money, right?

I think though if you compare Ford with GM, GM probably sells more trucks.

I believe right now the F-series outsells the GMT-900s. But in the past, GM full size trucks as a whole have outsold the F-series many times.

If you need something that can tow or navigate snow and unfinished roads, you will have to get one of the full size vehicles. If you need something that you commute with, you get a car or a crossover. If you need to do both haul AND commute, then you are defective and need to be bashed because you can't have the best of both words and you need to shut up and make due with what is offered. |

But if you look at it Ford has made much more drastic improvements that Chevy has just followed up on to say me too, not that Ford hasn't. Ford Releases Shelby GT500 in 2007, Track Pack and Aluminium Engine added in 2011 > 5 Years Later Chevy Releases ZL1 Camaro Chevy Releases Camaro SS with 426/400 Horsepower > Ford Releases New 5.0 Mustang and Improved Body Style and Interior Ford Releases Boss 302 and Boss 302 Laguna Seca in 2011 − 2012 Chevy Releases the 1LE Handling Package for the SS Camaro This isn't to start a war as I love both my cars but I'm saying Chevy needs to think ahead and one up Ford and not just release a competitor but a competitor Ford will have to Follow up to. Create a something that starts the market not follows it... Last edited by The IOM Ninja; 08-04-2012 at 12:31 PM. |
