Wicked, I'm in Houston too bro. I was getting prices off the factory websites. We got an incredible deal on our left over '11.
The dealer said everyone just passed over the yellow from the day it hit the ground... It's kinda growing on us, lol.

theres not much thats all american made any more, I can remember in 84 when I got my nice new Harley Davidson Soft tail, I had to get a shift fork for it cause I was used to shifting jap bikes my whole early years riding and stomped on the shifter cause I was used to smoother and shorter shifts and bent it, and wouldnt you know the first oem replacement part I ever had to buy for it was made in Japan. It even said so right on the packaging. After that day I realized that nothing would ever be all made here again.

No worries...I said I hated Ford building their transmissions there.

It's all good.

New rules are if you want to sell it in China you MUST build it in China.

If you want to build it in China, you must be in a Joint Venture with a Chinese company.

So your best deal is to be in a JV with a Chinese company that does very well.

GM has several. Wulling, SAIC etc.

Could we make the same rules here?

How about the ride? Does the Camaro have a better ride/comfort than the Terminator? I have a 5.4 Supercharged V8 Lightning and I absolutely love driving my V6 Camaro better! Ride and comfort is night and day! Hell, even the base sound system in the Camaro sounds tons better than the Ford sound system and even the brand new $47,000 Raptor I was checking out today! I think even the Camaro in a V6 form is a very good and well rounded car! Much more to a vehicle than raw motor performance IMO.

Yes, it's so terrible that GM, who dominates a good portion of the Chinese automotive market (aka the largest automotive market in the world), should want to build vehicles in China to sell in China. That makes no sense at all.

Not sure why that's something to laugh about. The current Buick lineup is one of the strongest in the industry.

They're global companies. You leverage whatever resources you have available, no matter what country they're located in. Pretty much every GM vehicle on the market will have global input one way or another.

I never really hated GM. They were always just kinda...there. I've pretty much driven Mustangs my whole life. I love them bc to me they are fun to drive and the exhaust sounds fantastic on them. Plus they were/are the more affordable pony car.

I was extremely happy with my 03 Cobra that I had before I got the Camaro. Only thing was that I bought it used and it had some issues...and it was a vert so it leaked and its a bit too hot in Texas for a vert IMO. Since it was my only car and I didn't want the engine or something to go out completely I sold it. Being unable to swing $30k for a used 5.0 at the time, I settled for this Camaro. I work for a GM dealer so they really helped me out. However, the more I drive this car...I don't know. The design is great, it looks good, but the downsides outweigh the positives for me. For one, the V6 is lethargic in terms of power and is HIGHLY overpriced. The interior is a sea of plastic, the car has gone back for service 3 times already in 6 months and I'm scheduling it again for a spoiler bolt that let go and is rattling around in the decklid....as well as what I think is an exhaust pipe vibration that sounds like crap everytime I hit a bump. The kicker is this is the most expensive car ive owned, and it has impressed me the least. Plus the fun-poking from the V8 Camaro crowd is the worst I've experienced..nothing like the brotherhood comraderie of Mustang clubs I've been in where they were just excited you had a Mustang.

I know Ford makes their transmissions in China...and that sucks. I don't believe they should be doing that. However, at least they arent catering to the political party there which I wont discuss bc I don't do politics.

At any rate, that's why I would like another Mustang. But I don't frown on the Camaro crowd or the Challenger crowd or any enthusiast crowd. The Camaro is a nice car....unfortunately I don't feel its the right car for me that's all.

You should see the crap the V8 guys on the G8 boards give the V6. I had a V6 G8 and every time someone posted about making more power in the V6 the first reply was almost always 'if you want more power shoulda got the 8, why do you even bother? You're choice to get a 6 was terrible and you are generally stupid for buying the six instead of the 8.'

It got so bad that the mods had to institute a policy of banning people for a few weeks when they made posts like that. Of course the comments then shifted to PMs instead of replies on a thread so the mods had to institute a policy of forwarding those PMs to the mods so that they cod ban the original sender.

It's a mentality that's completely foreign to me...

The ride in the Camaro is undeniably better.

It rides smoother, goes further on cheaper gas, has WAY more room inside...plus it has HIDs. (with RS of course).

I prefer the Mach 460 to the base Camaro sound that I have now...it just doesn't seem as loud.

I will readily admit the V6 Camaro is well rounded...I'm just someone who would give up ride quality and other things for more performance. Funny thing is though, I never go to the strip or anything.

Sometimes even I don't understand myself.

That sucks...I don't get the hatred either. I always had guys with V8 Mustangs offering me free parts for my V6 models bc they had previously owned a V6 before moving up.

With my Camaro, I've noticed that I just get scoffed at by the V8 crowd who take every opportunity to point out mine is a V6.

Really? Wow..thank you. I didn't notice that when I bought it.

Yea, not me anymore, lol. When I took my Lightning to the dealer today for some service work I couldn't believe how hard the seats and suspension feel now, lol. Came home and got in the Camaro to go grocery shopping and I can literally fall asleep in the Camaro. Very impressed with the comfort and ride of the Camaro! Not to mention the stock sound system vs Fords absolutely horrible sound systems! After owning eight Fords in a row, I'm really starting to turn into a Chevy fan just over this little v6 Camaro, hehe.
