The trash talkers who believed the ZL1 was the second coming left long ago when this thread was posted to the outback. My bet is those of us who remain would get along really well on a cruise night and enjoy checking each others cars out as much as sharing our enthusiasm for our own.

Given for this one.

This is one of the best posts ive read in this entire thread...

I have just deleted 56 posts from myriad members on both sides of the fence...

Why... Personal attacks and off topic posting...

This thread is titled the Mustang GT500 Mega Thread...

It is not you are a troll, or I'm not a troll, or Camaro5 this or Camaro5 that...

I'll grant that there is a bunch of ZL1 stuff in it, and that's due largely to the attacks in other topic sub-forums by numerous trolls. Most of those members, but certainly not all have been removed, though obviously some of them are returning under assumed identities.

We'll deal with those as we find them...

I appreciate the banter, even some of the smack talking. I have no horse in this race, and comfortably feel both of them are fodder for my lowly SS...

Here's the deal and members from both camps need to pay attention...

The personal attacks need to stop. We can see a members entire post history, and a lot of other information we may need to make a determination, of whom the trolls are...

If you are here to talk cars, the GT500, or the ZL1 in re: the GT500 then so be it... If you are here to antagonize other members, then it stops here.

Someone mentioned earlier in one of the deleted post that the mods are too quick or too harsh... as compared to other forums... So, this isn't some other forum... It's Camaro5. If you don't like the way we run this forum, then feel free to go wherever it is you like better... We know other forums talk about us, and that's ok... This site has grown from not existing to over 60K members... It's alive and well... and we will keep it that way. If fan boys and trolls from other sites come over here with an agenda we will deal with them on an individual basis. If they are the ones telling us how other forums are laughing about us, again, so what...

We consider the source and move on...

Our leanings are to those that have a proven affinity towards the Camaro of any level... It's a bit of a cliche, but, if you came to my house and crapped in the living room, I can promise you I'ld show you the door...

You come over to watch a football game, and root for the opponent, that's cool, but do not crap on my family, my dog or commit personal attacks and try to instigate fights... if you do, again, I'll show you the door... I'll harass you about your choices, but with a smile and you'll know we are still friends.. I'll eat crow if my team loses, and I'll do it with dignity, and you had better do the same if the shoe is flipped to the other foot, or you wont be back...

I hope some of you can understand the anger displayed by long time respected and known members. As in the paragraph above, come on in and we can "banter" but do not crap in my house and not expect me to react...

Why were all the threads about the GT500 moved in here, so we could manage the site and leave the trash talking and crap spreading out of other areas of our forum... We hated to do it, but it was the only viable option... As for merging and moving threads, stop and think about the fact that the same video was posted in nine locations to my knowledge... Look around and find the appropriate place to post it IF it hasn't already been posted...

This thread has devolved into personal attacks and trolling...

I'm willing to let it continue for a little longer without the personal attacks and trolling, but if these type of posts persist, this thread will go the way of others.

Call me what you will, Fanboy, power hungy mod, or whatever, but the personal attacks on other members will stop...

And for what it's worth... I invite and of you 13' GT500 owners and /or ZL1 owners to the track... I'll run any of you, and show you how sexy the arse end of a lowly SS Camaro is...

In the Great Muscle Car Competition of 2012, here are the facts:
1. The ZL1 is a great car.
2. The GT500 is a great car.
3. The competition is about to begin.
4. There will be losers and winners, and each day/track will change the name of the Top Dog.

Anyone know the weight of the '13gt500 with the track pack and performance pack? I know comparably equipped it runs close to $65k, vs ZL1's $56k. Just wondering how much weight it adds?

A lightbulb moment. If I was the current owner of a Camaro I would want to lose and stare at the "diapered" rear end of a Mustang. I really, really hope the '14 Mustangs adress this issue.

You know, I think my favorite year for the rear end of the Mustang was 1968.

Also, I saw a 2013 Shelby GT500 convertible last night. It was pretty cool looking. It had an M plate on it.

Well boys and girls I saw my first 2013 GT500 yesterday parked a few spots down from my SS. Black with red stripes and gunmetal grey wheels - looked amazing! Made my freshly waxed 2010 SS seem ages old. As I walked closer I was really impressed - stunning car. Wish the owner would have been there so I could hear it start!

54,995 base with destination.
3,495 PP
2,495 TP

So 60995 equipped to Z standards

Heaviest one I read as test with PP and TP is 3852 lbs.

Edit I see MTrend scaled there PP, TP at 3871.

this is exactly what we are trying to accomplish here.

Little by little I'm hoping we get there.
