Also, a buddy who parked with our Camaro crew had this 2008 GT500 with the 2013 blower on it... pretty cool

Is the older gt500 with a 5.8 blower the guy that has the thread over on fordgt500.com ? I am watching his thread right now because i believe he is one of the first people to do this. If not id be curious to talk to your buddy and ask how it turned out if it is not him.

I thought the Shelby had Brembos all the way around ? Pause that dyno video above at 1:48, they look like the same brakes that were on the V6 Camaro. Are the Brembos an option ?

No, they only have Brembos up front. My brother has them on his and they look the same as ours upfront.

Either someone is over rating or someone is under rating HP numbers from the factory. You are talking almost exactly 100 RWHP difference between the two. I assume they could have different drive train losses though.

I not sure if this is the right percent, but 12% loss for the ZL1 would put it at 556hp and 12% loss for the GT500 would put it at 666hp.

Some were saying the Shelby only has around 8% loss. My question is, the rated 662HP is that at the over rev 7K or the normal 62 or 65 what ever the Shelby runs ?

Just read 6250 is the normal redline and 7000 is peak over rev for 8 seconds.

I'm a Camaro owner and fan too, but c'mon... we aren't talking about cars that have "almost" the same performance...its 100 horsepower difference. IMO, Unless the Shelby costs twice as much as the ZL1, it's the better buy without question. Would I buy one? Not personally because I'm a Chevy guy... but the Shelby has us beat in just about every dept. but looks.

The only bad thing about the '13 Shelby is they are slow to arrive at the dealers, other than that Ford has done a wonderful job.

Everyday Mustang seems to punch us in the face..... From sales figures to performance data Mustang is catching up FAST. After seeing the dyno video I thought to myself...... WAIT there is a bigger HP difference between the Shelby and ZL1 than there is between the V6 Camaro and my SS Camaro

So in reality (at least in a straight line) a ZL1 VS a Shelby is like a SS vs a LS/LT

I was looking into a 2013 ZL1 Vert, but it probably will not happen for two reasons. 1. (Main) I have not secured all the funds yet. 2. The 2013 ordering/allocations is just as wacky/messed up as the 2012s. I only want to work with my local dealer (lots of history) but all the dealers I talked to were like ZL1 Vert ...... are they making those

:face palm: That being said, I think I really want to wait till 2014 anyway because Chevy needs to answer back BIG TIME.

I've been pretty fair in my time on this site.

But really think about what you JUST said..... I have my '13 already, had it for 2 weeks+, and there are '12 ZL1s that have been on order 3G as long as mine was.
