Guys like the OP who want a car to dominate is why GM is around, otherwise we'd all be stuck with 4 banger Toyotas.

I honestly didn't really care about GT500 stats until you start reading the crap guys like Al O start spouting about the ZL-1 being Jesus returned from the dead. I put a lot of stock in a man's word, and some of the GM brass' word is worth nothing now.

If you make a promise, deliver. If you know you can't, don't say anything, cause you just end up looking fake.
Yep! That mod might also threaten to ban you for talking about that person you mentioned above even if what you say is true. They also spout off about how this is a private forum and that makes me I guess no one ever told them theres nothing private about the net. My guess is they like many others can't handle the truth.

By the way I have never had one negative thing to say about the camaro ever

And if I get banned for this I promise I won't lose a second of sleep over it..

Also, let's not forget something. The mustang is both Ford's Camaro and their corvette.

I hear that phrase repeated her a lot, and what I'm reading into it is GM is still on top of the performance game since the Corvette trumps the Mustang. That's true, but does the Corvette really compete with the Mustang? If you believe it does, than I suppose it also competes with the Camaro.

I still think the best thing GM could do is move the Corvette upscale, and widen the gap between it and the Camaro. That would give the Camaro room to grow to its' full potential. Corvette sales may lessen, but they're not exactly on fire right now.

You've been on this forum long enough, what have you got to hide? Makes you look suspicious and most of the people think you're just a Ford Fanboy(girl) since you talk about it and defend it so much, and talk smack about GM. You got a VW?, so what, be proud of what you drive and show it. I think it's just shows a level of disrespect because the rest of us show and talk about all of our rides and you don't. NOT COOL!
Quite frankly, it's because it's nobody's business what I drive. I've owned three different vehicles since I signed up on this forum and nothing has changed in what I post, has it?

Here's the thing. If I were to post up that I drive a Chrysler, then some portion of the members would assume I was some Mopar fan only here to stir things up. Likewise if I were to say my ride was a Mustang or a BMW. What I currently drive gas no bearing at all on the opinions and/ or facts I post. I am "car" person and do not have allegiance to any particular manufacturer. I've owned various GM, Chrysler and Ford products, including Camaro's and Mustang's. Growing up, my family and friends were big Mopar fans, but never once did I feel pushed into buying only Chrysler products or belittled if I did not. (Ribbed from time to time, sure, but all in fun.)

What purpose would it serve for me to tell you what my current car of choice is?

On the contrary it has a lot of bearing on things. The way we look at it is if your don't have a horse in the race and typically don't have a good thing to say about Chevy, your just here to start crap.

Do you think everyone who follows, comments and watches thoroughbred racing has a horse in the race? Are the only knowledgable people in that sport the horse owners? Hardly.

Besides, who says I don't have a horse in this race? See, that's precisely why I don't post what I drive any more. (If you will remember, I used to) If I didn't/don't own a Camaro, then I must have some clandestine agenda for posting here? Yes, I weigh in with my opinions, but I rarely,if ever, start the conversation.

True. The majority of Camaro or Mustang owners will never race their cars, and don't want to. If they did, most of them would end up dirty side up against the wall. Asking which one is really faster is just for bragging rights, and then subject to who is driving it. The vast majority buy them for the styling and adequate or above adequate power. I raced my Solstice on road courses, but would NEVER race my Camaro. Compared to the Solstice, handles like a barge. But what a beautiful barge it is!. Which is why I bought it over the Mustang. Sooo...I don't care what some pro driver is able to turn a lap or a 1/4 in. I didn't buy it for that, and I doubt many really do.

I don't think they could widen the gap between the Corvette and the Camaro any more. I have always been a Camaro guy and one of the biggest benefits of the Camaro prior to the 5th gen was it was very close to the Corvette performance, was much cheaper, was minus the pompous owners and with addition of a back seat. The 4th gen was a great performer and bargain. The 5th gen, even though it still has a Corvette engine, is no where near in performance and now has the pompous owners to boot.

I hear that comment all the time but whom at Ford has stated this? Other than the Ford GT of a few years ago, Ford does not play in that market segment.

I don't think it's quoting someone at Ford, more an observation that there just isn't a vehicle in their lineup above the GT 500. Unless I missed one?
