If you're new to your gym... please pick up your effing weights and put them back where they belong when you're done. Check your ego at the door... you look like a fool when you lift more than you should be lifting. Not one single person gives a crap how much you're lifting, especially if you look like slob while doing it. If you don't know what you're doing, please ask someone that does before your hurt yourself. And good lord, stop sitting on the equipment when you're not using it!

A little irritated today...

I'm glad I have a home gym. The first of the year used to drive me nuts.

Yep, that's exactly what I look like. Except just a little fatter I'm cutting a bit slower (intentionally) than that though. I'm down 1.5 pounds in 2 weeks. Cardio gets added in a couple weeks though, so it should speed up a bit. 4 lbs in 2 weeks is great! Just too fast for me. I did it last year about that speed, and I really could feel it in my workouts compared to this year.

Then your problem is you are not spending enough time in your Fountain-of-youth Camaro!

LOL, no wrong went wrong. We all just live different lives.

1. Never compare yourself to anyone
2. If you want something anything is possible.
3. Success is in the eyes of the beholder

My problem is I never satisfied, spend the money I make, and We work so much we do not see each other as much as we want too. I work 3 jobs at 100hrs a week and still workout 7 days a week 1 to 2 hours a day.

IMO is having a positive impact in people's lives you touch is very important

Here is something I found interesting. I was watching a report on my local news chanel, it was about a study on how long it takes for a meal to be digested and turn to fat. They used a typical high fat meal, burger, fries and soda from a fast food chain. It took a measly 3 hrs for the meal to turn to fat, at this point the fat has not been stored and can still easily be burned off with exercise but if the meal was in the 800 kcal range that means about 2 hrs on the eliptical. If the fat is not burned off imediately the body now stores it becoming much harder to burn off.

Ooo OOooo I know this! My sister and I actually had a talk about that the other day and about eating excess carbs.

I watched Weight of the Nation on HBO (or you can watch it on HBO online for free) and it was pretty eye opening.

So basically saying by working out (walking, jogging, etc.) right after a meal, there is less of a chance of it being stored as fat?

If your meals are well balanced you will use the available nutrients first, This is why pre/post workout nutrition is important. It is also why some say to do cardio when in a fasted state. You will use the food eaten as energy first, when these energy stores are depleted is when you will burn stored energy/fat, if you have no available fuel the body will burn it's stores either fat or muscle. When working out (weight lifting) you would use good nutition for fuel , your body can/will burn fat for energy but it is like comparing low octane gas to high octane.
